Tried to get into this for a while but just couldn't, the interaction points are iffy (The trailer shows how to get out and I could even get that interaction point to appear!), the controls while from what I see from another review was done for accessibility reasons (which is commendable) could have been some sorta toggle as it makes it REALLY hard to control (inventory controls is the thing of nightmares), though really what put the nail in the coffin for me was the fact its another multipart game series that never got completed (In this case just episode 1 from what I can tell) With all that in mind, I bailed out of the game before I even could figure out how to get out of the 1st room. Was looking for an interesting adventure game but this aint it chief!

I'm not really sure if Forgotten Faces is an asset flip. Some elements of this game certainly make it seem like the developer put some effort into assembling some kind of original here. On the other hand, a lot of the game assets don't seem like they were created by the developer, but they haven't credited any asset creators for supplying assets, which might be a case of plagiarism. There's no evidence, so we need to give the benefit of the doubt... regardless, asset flip or not, the quality here is indistinguishable from many asset flip/cash grab scams, and that's a problem in itself. It's a third person top down adventure from the Russian shovelware garbage pushers, Volens Nolens (their games are almost indistinguishable from asset flips). The camera viewpoint is a lot like the first "Alone In The Dark" game, which is really awkward and annoying to play, especially considering Alone In The Dark was fairly well made, and this is not. The nonsensical advenute has you guiding a low poly woman asset thing around some pretty mediocre environments with weird alien skulls to sort out some kind of mystery... it's so badly written, it's headache inducing. Gameplay involves interac…

Forgotten Faces, developed and published by Volens Nolens Games, is a psychological adventure that builds itself around a striking and uncommon premise, yet struggles to fully transform that idea into a cohesive experience. The story centers on Alice, a young woman suffering from prosopagnosia—a condition that prevents her from recognizing faces—who finds herself navigating a mysterious mental institution while trying to uncover fragments of her past. On paper, this concept offers a powerful foundation for both narrative tension and gameplay innovation, as it naturally introduces uncertainty, distrust, and disorientation into every interaction. In practice, however, the game only partially realizes this potential. The narrative aims to explore themes of identity, memory, and perception, presenting events in a fragmented manner that encourages players to piece together meaning from scattered clues. Environmental storytelling and episodic sequences gradually reveal hints about Alice’s situation, but the game often relies too heavily on ambiguity without providing enough structure to support it. While a certain level of mystery can enhance a psychological story, here it frequently le…

The controls and camera are so badly designed that it's unplayable.

Maybe it's great as an adventure game, but it's awful as a game itself Ugly buggy mess with tank controls

Unfortunately, I couldn't get through the first episode because it was so glitchy. Interaction points that were supposed to yield items for quests would often take multiple interactions to get an item for no apparent reason. By the time I got to the bathroom the controls were locking up and the interaction points no longer worked to give puzzle items no matter how many times I used them. Beyond that, the writing is poorly edited. It doesn't follow writing conventions and sounds like a poorly edited story from a forum, not something I would expect from a completed product. The sentences are just wrong and sound either like a very young writer or someone whose first language is not English. Examples include “Sorry, I’m thought.” “Old suitcase” “Flushing doesn’t work.” instead of “Sorry, I was just thinking.” “An old suitcase” and “It won’t flush.” The one puzzle I was able to complete also did not make sense. I was only able to complete it because I play a lot of puzzle games and understand their conventions. That said, puzzles should make sense. They can make real world sense or other worldly sense but they should have some reason to them. I would like to see the developers take …
