PATIENT

First off, graphics and voice acting are not great so if this is important to you I would not recommend, for me however, these elements added charm to the game. Patient is about a guy who wakes up in an asylum with no memory of how he got there. He is able to find a way to escape and sneak his way home to piece together what happened in his personal life that landed him in the asylum. There is also a random side plot at the beginning that doesn't really relate to the end of the game but looking back I got a good laugh out how out of place it felt. For the most part the game play was pretty straight forward for a point and click game and objectives were contained to a manageable environment area. Despite this, there were also points in the game where I would get stuck due to something being unclear, this game would benefit from an in game journal or note pad that fills in info found or tasks started during the game. The game had its flaws but I enjoyed my play through, because of this I do recommend the game but highly suggest that a sale pricing would be a better justification of purchase. this game turned out to be a pleasant surprise. graphics are basic, sound effects were alright, voicing was tolerable despite the unavoidable russian accent throughout. to expect an indie studio to hire professional voice actors wouldn't be sensible anyway. the characters were varied and interesting enough. the settings were well built and helped soak you into the atmosphere of the game. puzzles were mostly easy-medium so they didn't obstruct the flow of the story for long. i have encountered one bug where giving the barber the wig before the photo caused me to get stuck. had to start from a previous save. the story was nice, no loose ends in the plot left. controls could be better, especially having to press right mouse button or shift to move faster was a bad design choice for a point'n click adventure game in my opinion. all in all, despite some minor shortcomings, that one would expect from an indie production, this was quite a fun little game. i must have finished it in 3 hours or so, taking my time with everything. heartily recommended.
