The Raven Remastered

Really fun game, that has a solid mystery and doesn't overstay its welcome. I was genuinely surprised by how cinematic the storytelling was, though the graphics struggled to match the ambition. I also had some real issues with the exact positioning of hit boxes, making certain sections more frustrating than I think they were meant to be. I don't think I can recommend this at full price, but it's well worth it on discount.

Beautiful graphics, and music. Just like you expect from King Art Games, Nordic Games and the Adventure Company. No dead-ends, so a well written game in terms of that, and a fun storyline to follow. Puzzles hard enough to keep the experienced adventurer engaged, but not too hard to put the newbies off. A fine game. 5/5.

This isn't so much a mystery game, but a point and click adventure SET in a mystery visual novel- but it's not only a pretty good PnC, and it's an exceptional narrative. With that being said, it's also a game that as you go further along, it starts to fall apart like a moving train being taken apart by magnets. It's logic ranges from grounded, to shooting off to the moon. The mystery is fun, and is full of twists and turns (reminding me a lot of the Knives Out series), but the satisfyingly fun and engaging pace of the story makes way to huge inconsistencies (like the KO series). This game hits so many mystery locals, from museums in Egyptian port towns, small passenger ships sailing over seas, and express railroads filled with murderers and pickpockets. There's even a locked door murder element! It has everything, including a plucky under-class investigator who the higher ups don't want around. But again, there's a bad side. I'm not sure if it's the Remaster or in the original as well, but this game hits some major bugs by the end; graphical and structural. I first played the original game when Chapter 1 came out for free on another gaming platform, where I instantly loved the setting, the style and the plot of the story. Years later I decided to pick the game up here on steam and play the whole thing. This game is heavily influenced by the works of Agatha Christie, which as a fan of her novels and works, greatly appeals to me. The positive points of this game are the story, which is engaging, clever and makes you want to find out more with every event in the plot. The puzzles are challenging but not impossible to complete, with no time limit or pressure to get the correct answer first time. There are hints available to use at any time if you get stuck, but this will decrease your score and determine which kind of achievements you get at the end of each chapter. The controls of the game are very easy to understand, and finding clues and items becomes easier the more practice you get by playing the story. There is a notebook you can read throughout the story, where the characters write observations of events and other individuals in the story, which I thought was a great addition to the game as it allows you to get a more in-depth…

I really really enjoyed this. So many P&C games done with caricatures are a bit inane or simply annoying. This one really had me engaged. If you like Point and Click and looking for a game with an intriguing storyline then I recommend this one
