Bomb Bay feels like a student's first crack at making game content beyond simply adding stuff to a level, although they still need practice at that too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UpET5BD7bq8 This game is a collection of five or so singleplayer missions that see you navigate some bare bones maps and complete very simple objectives such as arming bombs on planes. The missions are very boring and easy even on the hardest difficulty. The A.I rarely responds to gunshots unless they are either shot at directly or are roughly 10 feet away from the player. They then simply run towards you and start shooting. Sometimes the A.I doesn't even notice you despite being a few feet away and looking directly at the player. Mission objectives in Bomb Bay are very simple, usually just planting bombs at specific points that have one or two enemies guarding them. In the level I completed the bombs didn't even explode after the mission ended. I simply went back to a helicopter and left. The combat is very rough as well. It all feels like Unity templates for combat that didn't have anything added to them. Shooting weapons makes the model flop around the screen but there isn't actually any reco…7 found this helpful
As the game is, it is not amazing. This game has a long way to go before it is completely flushed out; however, even with the flaws that this game has, it is still fun. I enjoyed playing through the levels and can see myself playing them again, as I missed side objectives and other secrets. I would reccemend this if you are bored and want a short game to play through.3 found this helpful
I don't write reviews for games so this will be a pretty medicore take at it. To start off I'll give you the short of it, for a game made entirely by one person on a simplistic engine it is a good entry into the steam catalog of games that is littered with broken and unplayable trash.
Gameplay
Like I mentioned before this engine is known to be simplistic unless you are an actual game company with a budget to pay for very expensive version of it. With what the developer had to work I'd say this is great. The movements and gunplay are surprisingly smooth and it is genuinely fun to run/sneak around the levels lurking up on enemies and killing them with a stealthy mace swing from behind. The guns themselves feel very diverse and act appropriately to their real world counterparts. The setup is similar to that of old school shooters like Doom and Quake with their ammo and health pickup styles with a modern touch of stealth from newer games like Splinter Cell or Dishonored. I am definitely a fan of this, being my favorite part of the game overall. The AI is the only part of gameplay that I can complain about. They are very simple and lack any real intelligence. I have been tol…3 found this helpful
