It [b]crashes every other second[/b]—I haven't even gotten to one route yet! Perhaps that is for the better, because this game is a snorefest; that [b]horror tag is a lie![/b] Do not be deceived by it, and try other visual novels/otome games instead. How is this game even [b]29€[/b]? Horrible port, the art is mediocre, and the story is written for people who wouldn't even have that kind of money at that age!

A game that continues to crash every few minutes. You can crash as soon as under three minutes in. There are no Auto-Saves and your Quick Saves will get deleted the moment you crash. There are also freezing issues and you can't play this game offline. If you wish to torture yourself with continuously opening the game every 2 minutes or so, you can have [b]FUN[/b] with this one!!! And yes, this issue is known for years already and no one even [i]cares[/i] to fix it. So nothing new there.

TLDR: Grooming and Pedophilia are present in the last route of the game. If you must, buy on sale and refrain from playing the remaining route. CONS: 7-Scarlet is known as one of the worst otome games, and for good reason. Its writing fails to live up to standard and the game is considered 'alright' even for its time. The plot is all over the place and its length barely gives you enough time to get to know the characters, much less stir up any emotions within the events that take place, and half the time playing I just found it to be boring and ridiculous. It was more of a chore to get through and the few moments that did pique my interest were few and far between. The main love interests had no reason to fall in love with you other than the fact that you're the 'heroine'. One of the guys locks you up because... what, you knew him for two days as children? All of the plot points are so out of the blue. I thought the serial killer guy was going to be a romantic love interest, because frankly that makes more sense than your thousand-year old zombie grooming BROTHER. Have I mentioned the brother? I overall enjoyed this game but it left me with a lot of mixed feelings. The voice acting, art, movie, music, characters and writing were amazing! i especially love love LOVE the song 'Lovesick' by A-TO and have been looping it for weeks after Toa's route. The story was very detailed and the atmosphere was lovely. i love that theres an order of route to follow where it slowly unravels the whole mystery route by route. Its such a good game! Now my biggest problem was how naive and lacking the MC's personality is, i mean i initially thought she was a cute shoujo girl and really liked her for the first 3 routes... until i started Sosuke's route...it started off so good and then 80% of the CG is just her hugging sosuke, NOT EVEN IN DIFFERENT OUTFITS. it just gets repetitive especially since sosuke's route is one of the longest one. If u go through all the CG's u can see how all the other characters had cool action scenes and variety of fun scenes and sosuke's CG is basically just the 2 aliens hugging eachother meme. Its such a shame cus i was so excited for sosuke, im such a sucker for the smart nonchalant types who slowly warms up to MC. but alas, i couldnt stand MC in his route. Yu…

You can pick this up at a 75% discount, but with all due respect, such a lazy port doesn’t deserve even that. They should honestly add a special achievement for anyone who manages to complete it on Steam Deck. It is possible and somehow I even had the impression that it crashed less there than on PC. Still, 2–3 crashes per route was basically normal for this game. Then I reached the Secret Route, where that number went up to around ten. That route alone already leaves you with the feeling that you’ve just been fed a steaming pile of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, but having the game crash over and over again multiplies that feeling a thousandfold. No, thanks. For girls looking for an actually meaningful mystery/horror VN, I’d recommend Psychedelica of the Black Butterfly instead. Or 9 R.I.P. if you own a Switch.
