Limerick is such a good indie horror game, I don't understand why hardly anyone knows it. The atmosphere is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ creepy, the graphics are awesome, the puzzles are great and the story is eerie and crazy. Three boss fights and lots of cool diffrent enemies. If you like horror you have to play it. If you don't like puzzles you can skip almost all of it.8 found this helpful
I massively enjoyed playing through this game! I've done a little review on YT showcasing my first impression without spoiling anything. Also, highly recommend if you like horror, heavily focused on lore with combat and puzzles! https://youtu.be/pdGHpMn_z1w?si=W2h9F7pXrt5OvZ9M1 found this helpful
Watch out for the puppet blocking the panic room doors when you close them, it won't let you heal or leave the room alive, just die and re-do the same 15 minutes of puzzles again... Hopefully the game plays fair this time maybe...
TLDR: 6/10 overall. Most of it is good. Some parts super tedious. Major bug needs fixing. Overall story keeps you curious but is not the most compelling. Don't let the size of the pro/con sections fool you. The pros and cons are pretty balanced. I made my cons more detailed to help the dev, should the dev ever see this review. Pros -Lost of lore pages to find that tell an interesting backstory. -Creepy atmosphere overall. -Enemies, while simple, give fun fights once things ramp up, mostly. -Majority of the puzzles are fun to complete. -P-B0 is a good boy. Cons -The lairs are very tedious. I like the idea of them but they drag on in such a way that it makes you numb to it all. The later ones getting worse
as the corridors get smaller and threats spawn quicker.
-The speed and frequency of the ghost-like enemies dodging your shots is excessive, considering you technically have limited ammo. -Piggybacking off the previous, upgrading weapons feels like the effect is extremely minimal. There seems to be no point trying to upgrade multiple weapons so I recommend focusing only one.
Specifically, your psi-blast since it has many mechanics surrounding it…
Underrated aah game. fun story doe
I really liked the concepts, story and gameplay of the game. You have a well written story which is explained throughout the whole game via notes from the staff of the place. Between the 3 bossfights you have time to explore the place and learn more about the limerick, gather stuff and upgrade your weapons or power. Before the bossfights you have to play the game of the Limerick which are mazes with puzzles. While you try to solve those puzzles the Limerick is chasing you. The only thing I hated was the third maze because the Limerick chased me every 2 seconds, always knew where I was so I had no time to even try to solve the puzzles. I was so annoyed that I just skipped 2/3 puzzles! Overall it's an 8/10!
