The Tall Stranger is a mysterious being who has a special power. You can use ancient fountains to change the surrounding world. You will learn tidbits of the story mostly through short dialogues with the characters you meet while exploring the levels. [h1]Gameplay[/h1] The core gameplay of [b]Perspectrum[/b] is puzzle-platforming and free roam exploration. Right in the beginning of the game, you will find an “ancient fountain”. When you interact with the fountains that are scattered around the world, you change the elements of your surroundings. There are four elements: water, ice, lava, and acid. Let me start out by saying, I RECEIVED THIS GAME FOR FREE, as a review key. I streamed the first half of the game and gave my first impressions there, then later completed the game in private. TL;DR: It's not the longest game; I've managed to 100% it in a little over 2 hrs, but it is worth considering I'm also fairly experienced in this genre. While this game is on the short side, and is rough around the edges, it does contain a lot of charm from a clearly-passionate group of developers, and a lot of creativity as well. It's a humble puzzle-platformer, but one with a good heart too; I'd call it worth a purchase if this sorta game is your jam, and you want something chill to enjoy. ...Okay, now for the long-form of my thoughts! Perspectrum is a clever game that encourages you to think about its levels in a more fluid way than other puzzle platformers. The central mechanic of the game allows you to transform its levels with different elemental powers. Thaw a lake and dive beneath its surface or freeze a waterfall and scale it. This requires you, as the player, to reason about the same levels in interesting different ways depending on what elements you have at your disposal. All in all, I recommend you give it a chance and discover some interesting elemental interactions!

So let me start with the disclaimer that I recieved this for free. At the start the game seemed like an incredibly simplistic 2D platformer, but there is a lot going on in the game. The way your charicater manipulates the environment is super interesting and the concept and ideas are really good. That being said the game has some issues. For one thing, the simplicity of the game is a cool design choice but it can work against the game. It took my a while to figure out the controls and how to change the keybindings because there were no instructions whatsoever. I also got stuck in the city for about 5 minutes becasue I couldn't get up some blocks, which was immensly frustrating (you need to build up speed by chaining several blocks in a row, I had been slowing down to much and trying to run straight at it which apparently doesn't give you enough momentum). Also when you pick up the first key you have to backtrack the way you came to find the door it unlocks which it took me a bit to figure out because the city is full of locked doors (there are 4 spread around the city) but the first key unlocks a door back a few screens the way you came.
