Warning: GameGuru Asset Flip!
The Other Side Of The Screen is a what Valve calls a "Fake Game". The "developer" bought the GameGuru first person shooter construction kit (no coding required, it's just a GUI!) and cobbled out a map or two using stock GameGuru assets... nothing in this game can really be called the creation of the developer, and yet they also failed to credit GameGuru or acknowlegde any of the GameGuru assets. They're trying (badly) to pass someone else's work as their own. It's just a bunch of random GameGuru assets dropped around a really lazy, stock textured GameGuru map template. The "developer" did at least put some effort into using the construction kit... but not much. There's some menu artwork that the "developer" clearly did themselves... because it's laughably terrible. It's a hodge-podge of amateurish MS-Paint style drawings that looks like some high school kid did them instead of paying attention in class. Once you get past the crap artwork, it's just Gameguru maps slapped together badly, but the FPS component was removed in favour of doing a basic first person jumpscare adve…

From obnoxiously loud overbearing music, to sluggish controls and cheap jump-scares, The other side of the screen is just another lack luster indie horror game

this game changed my life in ways the human mind cannot imagine

The Other Side Of The Screen, developed and published by VaNyuHa, is a compact but intense horror experience built around the idea of survival as spectacle. It imagines a near-future scenario where technology allows people to be placed into fully immersive virtual environments, not for entertainment in the usual sense, but as participants in deadly scenarios controlled and observed by unseen audiences. This framing gives the game a cold, almost clinical tone, where the player is less a hero and more a subject being tested, watched, and discarded if they fail. The structure revolves around multiple playable characters, each placed in their own scenario with distinct hazards and layouts. This approach gives the game a sense of variety, as each character’s situation feels like a separate challenge rather than a continuation of a single narrative thread. Some scenarios emphasize careful movement and environmental awareness, while others require faster reactions and a willingness to take risks. Completing all of these perspectives is essential to fully understand the experience, and the need to see every path encourages repeated playthroughs. A defining aspect of the game is its unfor…
