Very poorly optimized and frustrating as hell

I bought it with 90% sale so it wasnt to bad. I had to stop though because about half way through it is suddendly drenged in extremly anoying moving and colloured lights. I have played a lot of games and even with trigger warnings I never had one actually triggering my migrane... until now. No trigger warning, no way to skip ahead or dimm those lights so no way for me to keep playing. If you are photosensitiv stay away from this.

Obscuritas is a first-person horror adventure that attempts to blend psychological unease, environmental tension, and classic puzzle-solving into a single experience, placing you in the shoes of Sarah as she inherits a remote mansion and quickly becomes entangled in the dark legacy hidden within its walls. From the outset, the game tries to evoke old-school horror sensibilities — dim corridors, heavy silence, creaking doors, flickering lights — and for a time, it succeeds. The early sections of the game draw you in with a sense of uncertainty and dread, relying more on atmosphere than shock tactics. The house itself becomes a character, with shifting shadows and oppressive rooms casting an ever-present sense of danger as you move deeper into its secrets. The game is structured around three large chapters divided into nearly thirty sequences, and each section presents a different blend of exploration, puzzle-solving, and survival. As Sarah uncovers keys, mechanisms, hidden chambers, and cryptic messages, the mansion opens into a wider range of locations that include graveyards, underground tunnels, derelict amusement-park-like environments, and surreal nightmare realms. It started off with a good set of interesting puzzles, but chapter 3 really went down hill. That ghost dog is one of the worst stalker enemies ever. During the big chase with it, it sometimes pops out of nowhere like the whole chase is trial and error. 6/10 for me. The good outweigh the bad.

I don't like leaving bad reviews but I think this is genuinely one of the worst games I've played, easily the worst horror game. So disappointing given the frankly fantastic atmosphere at the start and generally pretty good visuals throughout, but it just descends into a collection of every worst horror game puzzle type dialed up to be as slow and painful as possible. So much trial and error without even any scares most of the time. About 95% of the jumpscares felt like they were audio only, I would hear a horror sting but not see anything almost every time. A couple things like the [spoiler]swords and slaughterhouse[/spoiler] puzzles were genuinely pretty cool but almost everything else... it feels like the game hates you for playing it. Hilarious end screen though, and [spoiler]weeping angel bumper cars[/spoiler] is a pretty big highlight.
