Aww shucks. This is one of those old school H.O.Gs and I adore them! Map teleport isn't necessary as the game is not only short, the passageways are rather simple and you wont backtrack as much as you might think. That and well... There isn't much to explore anyway lol. Some mini-games are creative. Some I can't solve for the life of me. But that's normal with H.O.Gs. I love me just straight up lots of H.O. scenes, so this one was right up my alley. It isn't obnoxious. It doesn't lag or hurt you in any way. So why not? Also, for the story? I actually thought
Lady in red. The daughter
was the killer. Oopsies! But that... Hmm... Yeah. Anyway. Good ol' game. Still actually works. Kudos.

Dark Lore Mysteries: The Hunt For Truth is an older game from 2014. It's a venerable 10 years old at the time of this review. It's a Hidden Object puzzle game, the type you normally see on mobile app stores or even as browser apps. There's literally hundreds of these on Steam, mostly published by Artifex Mundi, many of them free on mobile app stores, but this one will cost you money on Steam. There's a old timey horror/magic theme to the game, but this is a just a veneer over a tired and overdone set of hidden object minigames and Adobe Flash tier puzzles, wrapped together with a bunch of static screens that you "move" through by tapping your finger on your iPhone screen. While these kinds of games are popular amongst casual gamers, it's difficult to argue this is a great value proposition as a PC game, especially considering the price of this compared to the hundreds of free HOGs on the mobile app stores. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your displ…

Dark Lore Mysteries: The Hunt For Truth, developed by Gogii Games and published by Strategy First, is a hidden-object adventure that blends mystery storytelling with classic point-and-click puzzle mechanics. Set in a quiet town shaken by a brutal murder, the game casts players in the role of an investigator tasked with uncovering the truth behind a series of unsettling events. As the investigation deepens, it becomes clear that the crime may be tied to a darker history that has long lingered beneath the town’s surface. The narrative framework leans heavily into suspense and small-town intrigue, creating an atmosphere that feels intimate rather than epic. The gameplay follows the traditional structure of hidden-object adventures. Players move through a series of detailed 2D environments, examining rooms, collecting items, and interacting with characters who provide fragments of information. Hidden-object scenes form the backbone of progression, requiring careful observation to locate specific items scattered throughout richly illustrated backgrounds. These sequences test visual attentiveness rather than reflexes, encouraging players to slow down and absorb their surroundings. Along…

Not a bad HOPA game. Lot of HOP scenes. Game is incredibly short. Really only worth it if it's on sale. Also, only recommend to fans of the genre who use it as a time filler.
