正宗台灣十六張麻將 is an ancient game from 1994. It's a whopping 29 years old at the time of this review. The game runs in DOSBOX and lacks support for any modern gaming display resolutions (or widescreen monitors), hasn't been modernised or updated to run smoothly on modern gaming PCs. Despite this lack of modernisation, it carries a pretty high price tag for such an ancient game. This seems to have been put on Steam as a nostalgia gouge. There's no English translation for the game, but that's ok. It turns out, the language of bad games is universal. It's an old Mahjong (card/tile gambling game, not the "match-2" lightweight version) that was popular in China decades ago, and features a few minigames and a branching kind of plot/campaign mode that is welcome depth to an otherwise basic kind of gameplay that's largely now relegated to mobile phones and web browsers. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. While there are options to change the resolution for the game, all this does is scale up the simplistic 2D art assets used to make the game, which makes little or no difference to the graphics quality. …

I can't play Mahjong, but yeah, that won't stop me from enjoying it on my Steam Deck. The page says it's unsupported on the handheld, but I had no trouble running it at all. Might be a good option to get if you are into this type of gambling or you are just looking to play something random just out of curiosity.
