Etrian Odyssey HD

[h1] Inspired by my favorite grand daddy of dungeon crawler RPGs, Etrian Odyssey HD is an incredibly faithful remaster of the DS counterpart [/h1] [h3] This game is pretty much a definitive port of the nintendo ds original, using clever use of the new assets that the 3DS remaster already had, while removing the new additions that made the game a completely different beast. [/h3] The majority of this game is methodic exploration on a traditional 3d grid based crawl. item management, resources and party formation make the bulk of this game. having enough modern options to make this experience as painless to new players of the genre or returning players from the DS version. runs exceptionally well on the steam deck as well. supports higher resolutions and emulator staples such as internal resolution upscaling. I've recently had the itch for an first person, dungeon crawling jrpg. A little dated and made for a mobile system, it scratches that itch.

Far too little information given to the player. I assume it is part of the charm, but having no clue what stats mean or what mechanics do is infuriating at best after hours of going around trying to figure things out.

Game requires a lot of patience but it's outstanding once you get the hang of it.
