About Constant C

In the year 1905, Albert Einstein published the theory of special relativity, suggesting that nothing could move faster than the speed of light. What if any mortal could break that constant? Stretch it beyond its limits? Would human beings finally be able to find a way to cheat death and win over immorality? Or is it Chaos that follows the manipulation of time and gravity?

Constant C is a 2D puzzle platformer with two core gameplay mechanics - Gravity Shifting and the Time Field. Using these two mechanics in the game, the player controls the momentum of various objects to complete each level.

Dive into the world of Constant C, where rules of fundamental physics no longer apply. In a space station far away from Earth, mysterious events have triggered the distortion of time. Journey through the game as a lone robot, who uncovers the truth behind the incident step by step, and finds the purpose of his own creation.

Feature

 • Gravitational Shift + Control Time Flow = Momentum Manipulation
 • Over 100+ mind-twisting levels
 • 2D skeletal animation with cute character designs
 • Created a unique futuristic, mysterious atmosphere with beautiful lightning

Very good feeling when playing this game. The concept of manipulating gravity is well exploited and works very well in puzzles. Beautiful design and good music. A touching andentertaining little scenario. A great puzzle game that I recommand to play.

When I look at this game in my library I have to wonder why I even bought it. I bought this game over 3 years ago and I cannot for the life of me recollect why I had the feeling this game was good or what attracted me to it. The developer is completely unknown, the screenshots look fine, the trailer is a tad bombastic and shows off the main mechanic of the game fairly well but it's still a very standard puzzle game. But boy am I happy that I did buy this game because this is easily one of the most polished puzzle games I've ever played. Constant C is a puzzle game but with 2 extremely compelling and well-rounded mechanics: gravity switching and time dilation. Gravity switching is a fairly obvious one but the time switching mechanic is easily one of the most impressive puzzle mechanics I've seen. There world has frozen in time and only a small radius around the character has time flowing at normal speed. This means any object within that radius would move as normal but the moment it leaves the radius it instantly freezes in place. Unlike some puzzle games where the main mechanic is used sparingly because the level designer couldn't come up with puzzles good enough to use it …

My time played may show 75 minutes but I've actually never had a chance to play it. That time is from idling for cards using idle master. I tried to start it up today and the game just crashes before it loads up. There's a work around mentioned in the forums but it's playing the game out of steam which you lose out on the achievements and cloud save. I shouldn't have to do this since I did buy it through steam and was expecting to play it through steam. I can't recommend this to anyone unless this was fixed but from the looks of it will never happen.

Constant C is an excellent indie puzzle platformer with a pretty unique hook of shifting the whole level's gravity intelligently. The sci-fi story is interesting and well presented, music is great, graphics are great too for the type of game and age it has and the humoristic touches land. The puzzles have a good difficulty curve and figuring out everything as well as finding all the secrets is a lot of fun. The game may be over a decade old at this point but still well worth playing in 2024. P.S. There's a prequel comic which you can find linked in the Steam Discussions too!

A very fun puzzler. You don't need great dexterity but you will need to be able to solve dimensional puzzles.
