TLDR; If you like character-driven stories with meaningful psychological and emotional impact like Homestuck; ARG games like Shipwrecked 64; the feeling that every time you stop in your tracks and pay attention to the environment, a conversation, a background image, a voice, etc, you discover something new about the whole puzzle like in Blue Prince; if you're an artist and love to draw and do plenty of fanart of your favorite characters; if you like theory crafting, there are hundreds and hundreds of theories and conclusions you can make; if any of those things check, then this is the right place for you. All you need to do is give it a chance. It will slowly make its way into your heart, like a parasite. This game is a hidden gem that definitely needs to be known by more people. oneway.exe is a callback to the early days of the internet, when things were simpler, you had a small group of friends who you felt really understood each other and it was you and them against the world, specifically if you liked some niche things and felt nobody else could GET IT like you do, except those friends. The game is just a big (huge) cryptic ARG. It has its public but, sadly, that's not me. Each puzzle became tedious and boring, not intriguing.

i've been begging all my friends to play or at least watch ME play this game nonstop since i started playing it, so the logical course of action is i ought to repeat the sentiment here: PLAY THIS GAME! PLEASE!!!!! if you have any love in your heart for internet horror in all its permutations, for creepypasta, fnaf, marble hornets, even chain emails about that girl who died in a sewer and crawls out of the drain to kill you if you don't pass her tragic tale along, PLAY THIS GAME!!!!!!! the game ITSELF is a haunted video game creepypasta for god's sake, and there's an ARG to tie into THAT side of internet horror as well. if you want to feel like it's 2013 again and fnaf was new and the lore wasn't yet a total mess but something intriguing and worth picking apart and analyzing and theorizing about, PLAY!!!! THIS!!! GAME!!!!! this game is very well deserving of the term "love letter to the genre" and i honestly couldn't describe it any better than that. please play oneway.exe

NightMind recommended this game, in the same vein of Shipwrecked 64. Boy does it deliver. I just finished the game a few minutes ago after binging through everything and I have a lot of thoughts that I need to process about it regarding the story. But this is equal parts delightful and dreadful. Watching the slow, creeping horror of the modern day settle in and the wonderful relationship of three friends slowly decay and rot. Weaving together a haunting and technological horror together to tell its tale. There are many other games similar in style, but this is a work of art. I'm amazed that there are less than 100 reviews of this game on steam, I couldn't even find video compilations of the other endings! First time I've experienced a game that's flown so under the radar. Wonderful stuff. Hats off to you, crew!

I'd been searching for another fake-desktop game for a while, since I adore that concept and love puzzles, and Oneway just appeared to me randomly one day. Instantly I was sucked into the world and the characters. The story is dark, intriguing, and heartbreaking all at once. It requires you to really think and dig through EVERYTHING for small clues that will lead to any of the endings. Oneway really dives hard into 2010's internet nostalgia. Forums, chat logs, teen websites, you name it. Each character in the fictional "UNTITLED" game is a love-letter to different internet horror over the last two decades. Podcasts, creepypasta, chainmail, etc. The art is gorgeous, the voice acting is well done, and the scares it does give you are executed amazingly. It's a story of love, of hate, of obsession. It's a psychological thriller that puts you in a very unique pair of shoes and doesn't let you know where things are headed. On top of that, the community has been the kindest and warmest I've seen yet. Everybody from simple fans, to mods, and even the devs themselves are there to help and welcome you in. This game is underrated and absolutely worth giving it a go!
