The Exit 8

Pretty cool game about spot the difference and find the anomalies, short and sweet, i like it!

The great thing about this game it's how perfectly it sets you for the experience : it understands with precision how the human mind works, and you feel a genuine sense of uneasiness even tho you're perfectly safe. Light spoilers regarding the experience, read at your own risk : you start with a short confusion (what's this? what do I do?), you read the rules, and you're like "oh ok, how hard can it be?" And you start looking, but you don't really have a frame of reference since you're discovering the game. At the beginning you pass some levels and loose some without really knowing why, because the anomalies you get are so subtle you just don't see them. Then, you get one less subtle, so you start to guess where to look. And then, when you're fully focused, you get "that" and OH CHRIST ALLMIGHTY the genuine fear you feel. Because it's creepy to the point it breaks the rule : this level isn't for you to win or loose, it's so obvious you won't loose this one. But your mind screams "I want to get the hell out of here!!!" and from this moment, you're fully immersed. Great game!!!

Very good, quick game! I'm not usually one for jump scare horror, but I think this game does just that quite well. I enjoy how subtle the game is, and the lack of background music really adds to the unsettling experience. I also appreciate that, once you've escaped, you get to go back with a countdown to find the remainder of the anomalies. This was a small, but wonderful touch for completionists.

Pretty cool. I liked it despite the struggle and finding out I missed quite a few after beating it :]

This game is about pattern matching and recognizing changes in the environment, but it will be repetitious and Nintendo-hard for many players. Some of the things you must notice are small, subtle, and below the threshold of fun. When I get bored or frustrated with a game my reflex is to turbo through it, but with Exit 8 the solution is to go even more slowly. You must, for example, turn around and look at the concourse sign each time you go through the corridor, which is a drag. I'm also tired of game writers that think omitting a tutorial or plain explanation of the game mechanic is somehow exploratory or a worthwhile form of discovery.

This is a fantastic Game, its not too tedious and the anomalies are fun and sometimes creepy!
