About Petal Crash

Easy to learn and rewarding to master, Petal Crash is a brand new puzzle game in the tradition of the arcade action puzzlers of the mid-90s. Like the games that inspired it, Petal Crash features a variety of single player challenges in addition to an intense head-to-head versus mode. The rules are simple - push a block any direction, and it'll keep going until it hits a wall or another block. If it hits a block of the same color, the blocks will burst, sending any other blocks next to them flying! Line them up just right to create huge chain reactions, racking up points and burying your opponents in garbage!

Enter the land of Florea, a loosely-connected smattering of city-states where people of many different fantasy races coexist with one another. Though the land is divided, it's said that it was once a united and prosperous country, where the people enjoyed a lasting peace presided over by the seven Sacred Blossoms, relics of great power assembled in the Royal Garden. How Florea came to be divided is lost to history, and the legend of the scattered Sacred Blossoms has turned to myth: whoever finds all seven and returns them to the Royal Garden will receive their heart's true desire.

Eons later, the Sacred Blossoms have each fallen into the hands of a different individual: The fairy scholar Lilibri, the fiendkin delinquent Strelitz, human tailor twins Penny & Deony, the dwarven treasure hunter Ore Kid, the beastkin freelancer Daize, the legendary centaur dancer Yosoti, and the errant elven knight Rosalia. Each of them has their own wish, and their own story to tell.

Challenge the Story Mode to take your chosen character through their tale, challenging all the others in fierce puzzle battles to assemble all seven Sacred Blossoms! Shoot for high scores in Solo Play, racing the clock or rationing limited moves to get the highest rank you can! Solve puzzling brain-teasers with limited moves in the Puzzle Mode, and make your own puzzles to share with friends! Challenge another player or fight the CPU in Versus Mode, racing to make clears and bury your opponent!

Met the developer of this game on a plane years ago - super nice person and clearly put a lot of effort into this

I've been playing this game on occasion since 2021 and...I'm still kinda bad at it? The mechanical depth of Petal Crash can NOT be understated. The central mechanic is easy to learn, until you find out it's hard to learn, and I'm not sure anyone can "master" it since there's so much to learn about it. But one thing it IS is very, very fun. To me, it's rare and special to have a game I played a long time ago stand out enough to revisit. But Petal Crash proves it's worth my time over and over again. Excited for the sequel!

Puzzle gaming is right here. Hop on one of the most intense competitive games in 2026. Story mode is good for chill (and intense) play too, that's what I do. I have more play-time on Switch. it's hard but satisfying to get better, great music and graphics, cool looking sequel in progress

Petal Crash is an inventive competitive puzzle game developed by Friend & Fairy and published by GalaxyTrail that successfully blends the charm of classic arcade puzzlers with mechanics that feel fresh and original. Rather than relying on the familiar formula of falling blocks, the game revolves around pushing colorful Petals across the board to collide with matching pieces, creating explosive chain reactions that can quickly change the outcome of a match. This simple concept grows into a surprisingly deep system that rewards experimentation, planning, and precision, making every round engaging whether you are playing casually or aiming to master its advanced techniques. The core gameplay stands out because every movement matters. Instead of reacting to randomly falling pieces, players actively position and launch Petals to trigger increasingly elaborate combos. Building efficient chains requires foresight, spatial awareness, and the ability to predict how each move will influence the entire board. Early matches are approachable thanks to intuitive controls and clear mechanics, but the strategic possibilities become much more rewarding as players discover new ways to construct dev…

Excellent puzzle game I should've played sooner. It has perhaps my new favorite design for puzzle gameplay with great characters and aesthetics to go along with. Absolutely reccomend. If you've ever played something like Puyo Puyo, then yeah, this is your standard "character goes on a journey while fighting via the hip puzzle game against other characters along the way" affair. Here you get to play as all of the characters with their unique story and proper tweaks depending on who you go as. Getting to the actual gameplay, yeah it's really great. The greatest comparison I know is Puyo Puyo as you gotta make as long a chain as you can while sending over and dealing with trash blocks that get put on the board. I like how it's designed here much more though as you can see what petal tiles will appear way ahead of them manifesting and get to move any tile whenever, so it's less about your reaction time and trying to create the same specific chain patterns and more about being creative and perceptive. It's so satisfying to make a monstrous chain and leave your opponent devastated, but you'll also have many moments where you'll have to scramble for smaller ones when you're getting clo…

A cute and fun, nostalgic feeling puzzle game! There's so much heart put into this game, from the art, music, and mechanics. I'm still learning the ropes, but I'm having fun playing! The characters are fun, and I'm looking forward to playing each of their stories. Highly recommended to puzzle league fans that want to try a new playstyle!
