About Barrage

Barrage is a turn-based, strategic worker placement game: Engineers are the key elements of your game plan. Send Engineers to carry out different Actions, such as gathering new Machinery, managing water, building structures, and produce energy, but be careful: Action spaces are limited and shared among all players, so timing is crucial to avoid opponents stealing your next move.
The game unfolds in turns; each turn, players will be able to pick just one Action at a time. Engineers are few, and the more powerful an Action, the more Engineers it needs, so managing your workers carefully is the fundamental aspect of every gameplay.

Every corporation is unique in its own, and unlocks different rewards as the game progresses. Plus, every CEO has a special passive power that can be unlocked to maximize energy production, profits, or resource management.
But that’s not all: CEOs are assisted by Executive Officers, useful helpers which heavily impacts the gameplay rules and results in very different play styles. Experiment with different CEOs and XOs to find the ones that fits you best, or draft them at the beginning of the game for more unpredictability.

Objectives, Energy Contracts, and Technologies are randomly chosen from all available possibilities, ensuring a unique experience every time you play. This element of randomness fosters replayability, making each game a new challenge to overcome and forcing you to adapt your planning and strategy.

Dive into the uchronic world of Barrage, redesigned for a better gaming experience on PC, without waiving the beautiful visual language of the board game. Actions, resources, and the captivating visual elements of the board game have been preserved to charm experienced players and new ones alike.

Whether you want to challenge players worldwide or enjoy a solo game, you won’t be disappointed. The online mode allows you to compete against players from around the world. If you prefer a more personal experience instead, the offline mode lets you enjoy the game at your own pace, customizing factions, XOs, and other options.

⚡ Barrage on Steam: A Highly Recommended Digital Adaptation! As a fan of the Barrage tabletop game, the Steam version has been a convenient and welcome addition to my collection. This digital implementation successfully translates the deep strategy of the original while adding some excellent quality-of-life improvements. Key Strengths Seamless Resource Management: The single biggest benefit of the digital version is the resource automation. The game expertly handles the tedious tracking and management of water flow and materials, letting you focus entirely on the core strategic decisions. Enhanced Gameplay Speed: The introduction of faster animation options (likely part of a DLC or update) has made the gameplay feel much quicker and more fluid. This is a massive plus for repeat play and getting through games efficiently. Great Replayability with DLC: The DLC content is a game-changer. It not only keeps the experience fresh but, along with the faster gameplay, significantly boosts the replayability of an already great worker placement game. Points for Improvement AI/Bots: While I appreciate that the bot opponents are visibly improving with updates, there is still room…

I don’t understand why players can’t see which technology tiles are in play, or which technology tiles and external contract tiles have been removed, during the turn order selection phase. On BGA, this information is visible. I would appreciate a response regarding this. Also, I look forward to expansions featuring the Colorado map and the Brazil and Japan nations.

Barrage is a brilliant board game, and this is a really great digital adaptation. I've only played against bots, so haven't tried the multiplayer. The medium bots present a solid challenge, and it's a great way to practice this mind-bending game. Looking forward to the upcoming new content and hopefully more bot options!

Good implementation of a great board game. Medium AI can be challenging for average players like me.

A faithful adaptation of the board game. However, since me and my friend always seem to be the only players at the moment, it's impossible to play in >3 player games. Being able to add AI to multiplayer matches would be a huge improvement. In that regard, having the duel expansion from the board game would do wonders as well. Perhaps having hard AI would do wonders as well, since there is only ever the choice between medium and easy. On another note, all the achievements are locked to the base game, which is quite sad, since the Leighwater Project is so much more fun. The game runs smoothly, although I've experienced some random freezes/crashes here and there. The UI takes a bit of getting used to, but, overall, I love this game.
