Potions Practicum

Soo cute. Finding potion recipes feels good, and the talking cat is funny. It's actually worth reading the interactions, and for me that's the best part. Worth the low cost, and can see myself spending a few hours here.

You might like this game if you go in with the right expectations. I didn't, but I think if I knew the below, I would have had a better time. Thus, I will make it a recommendation and hope the below review will be helpful. It's impossible to win on your first try. This game requires you to restart and/or lose several runs so that you can identify enough formulas to eventually win a run. I did not expect this (I'm used to longer games that will give me a chance to win on the first playthrough), so it resulted in some frustration. Each day is based on a real-life timer ticking up. Once the time reaches a certain point, it ends the day regardless of what you are doing. The next day, you can usually pick back up where you left off, but not always (sometimes a customer is not there any more). The resources (formulas, ingredients, wood, and gold) are scarce and rely on randomness for a chance to learn, buy, or earn. There were several times that I was sitting on my thumbs watching the clock and waiting for the day to end, so I could buy some wood to make a potion. A few times the day would end and I would suddenly not have enough gold to buy any wood, because the computer decided that…

A surprisingly adorable potion‑crafting game. The art style and music are unbelievably cute, and the whole atmosphere feels cozy from the first minute. Mixing potions is fun and relaxing, and the cat character constantly made me laugh. If you want something light, charming, and entertaining, this one is perfect.

This is a cute game! I liked the characters, and how you had to figure out the right path forwards depending on their goals.
