This is my FAVORITE fishing game! I played this on the Switch and now I'm so happy it's on Steam. There's 8 locales with 5 sub locales each for 40 total locations to fish. You have missions that help you unlock new gear such as rods, reels, and lures. These give different boosted stats or even unlock new catches in certain locales promoting the revisit of old locales to catch new fish. Without spoilers, the final locale is great and is along the lines of what I was looking for when I play this cartoony/stylized fishing games. The fishing mini game itself is fun with opportunities for critical catches. Fish really do fight back and some fights can last pretty long. I think one one the final fish can be like 10 mins long fight. The game isn't perfect, it's not even the best fishing game imo, but it's really fun and a great addition if youre looking for a cutesy cartoony fishing game.

Osamu Murata needs to re-balance the sound of rushing water so I can hear the rest of the game without turning the sound down to 0.5. Even in three locations, the sound of rushing water is always present. It's a fun arcade experience, and at this sale price it's worth picking up, but you will be hearing RUSHING WATER in your dreams if you play too long.

Fishing Star World Tour takes the familiar pleasure of casting a line and turns it into an approachable, collection-focused experience built for players who prefer accessible entertainment over demanding simulation. Developed and published by WRIGHT FLYER STUDIOS, the game revolves around traveling between numerous fishing spots, discovering different species, and gradually expanding a personal collection. Its cheerful approach makes it easy to understand from the beginning, while the large number of fish provides a longer-term objective for players who enjoy completing catalogs. The fishing system keeps its fundamentals simple. Players cast their lure, reel it through the water to attract potential catches, hook a fish at the right moment, and then work to bring it in. It avoids burying the experience beneath complicated procedures, making individual fishing sessions quick to begin and easy to enjoy. The resulting rhythm alternates between peaceful waiting and more active moments when a fish takes the lure. This accessibility is beneficial for newcomers, although players accustomed to highly technical fishing simulators may find the mechanics less detailed than they would prefer.…

This is a pretty fantastic casual fishing game. Clean, cute, simple, punchy, arcade-style action with pleasant aesthetics. Great for quick sessions. If you grew up on or appreciate retro fishing titles, I think you'll enjoy this. It basically simplifies the travel/kit aspects of such games while emphasizing and amplifying the reel-in phase, the feel of which, to me, is reminiscient of catches in Super Black Bass. That said, it's not a full on fishing simulator and I can see the general simplification being redundant over time. I feel like the full asking price might be a bit steep. At time of writing the game is 90% off, however, which seems more than worth it.

Game is cute for what it is, you get different rods, different tackle and different reels that you change based on the location and the fish, there's different maps and different fish, you change your lures based on the fish, there's 3 styles to catch fish that change the way you fish for them, some you have to pull the rod until they face you, others you have to pull up until it faces you and the third you can just reel there's boss fish that changes based on the map that uses all 3 methods to reel in, your missions unlocks new equiptment. For the sales price I am really happy! but would never have purchased this full price.
