About Faraday Protocol

Faraday Protocol is a first-person puzzle game that will test your wits and intelligence, challenging your critical thinking. You are Raug Zeekon: interstellar archeologist from planet Cunor. You have been sent by your company to investigate the source of a mysterious signal coming from an unexplored star.
The Bia Tool, an ancient relic of an alien civilization, is the first mystery you uncover when arriving in OPIS. Unsure of its true purpose you start wielding it to solve the challenges on your path. With its ability to absorb energy and the option to redistribute it to different machinery, you start digging deeper and deeper into the temples, encountering even harder puzzles that will test your savvy and abilities in problem solving. Are you smart enough to solve every challenge thrown at you?
You encounter a mysterious robotic voice. Her name is IRIS, an A.I. created to guard the ancient structures of OPIS. The complex seems to have been abandoned for aeons, but what was its purpose? Rooms filled with puzzles, getting more and more sophisticated and challenging as you progress through them. Who built them? Why would someone build a training facility like this on an otherwise abandoned planet?

Jumping sucks and one review said the puzzles were simple and tedious, which is a fair if not slightly harsh statement. I'm halfway through the game and while some levels can be a little drawn out, I haven't had to look up any solutions. The Russian Arnold Schwarzenegger voice acting is pretty bad. For $2 on sale I give it a thumbs up, but if I had paid full price I probably would have refunded it. edit: still gets a thumbs up for $2, but I did hit a hard lock preventing me from progressing about halfway through. I know it is a bug because I watched a couple videos thinking maybe I was missing something and I was not.
It's a small-ish puzzle game that I think is receiving a lot of hate for 2 $ (currently on sale). To be honest, 20 $ is kinda excessive for what you'll be receiving. I'd price it around 10 $ (full price) to be fair, and maybe 5 on a sale. Anyway, I had fun, so I recommend it, especially on such a low price currently.
I am so divided on this game, to rec it or not. On the bright side, the game does a decent job in puzzles (for me most of them sat right in the middle, not too easy or too hard, except towards the ending, the boss puzzles were way too easy), dialogues are fully voices acted, atmosphere is decently build, movement is fluid enough; that’s it really, just a decent FPS puzzler, give it a try after you finish better ones, like Portal, Talos Principle, Entropy Center, Turing Test, Lightmatter. But, I need to mention the dark side too. Starting off with some puzzles, while most are alright, some throw moments of “Where the balls do I find the button!” they are also quite long and tedious, requiring a lot of going back and forward, compared to let’s say the most popular, Portal, I can solve 4-6 chambers during the time it takes to solve one in this game (again, not all puzzles are like this, but some). It also has a bad habit of introducing new elements without explaining anything. Then there are the platforming sections. Some chambers/areas have sprinkled around a bit of platforming, and let me just say, good thing they are kept to a minimum cuz while I did say movement is fluid enough…
It's a pretty good game! energy swap puzzles aren't too hard, to make up for that the level designers make the rooms look big and/or intimidating and sometimes lock progression behind a combination lock (and the locks get more difficult as the game progresses) also has an Interesting story, would recommend if you like puzzles!
It was quite an enjoyable puzzle game. The game really pushes you to think deeply. When you combine this beautiful puzzle design with environmental design and a philosophical lore, it creates a highly enjoyable experience. I definitely recommend giving it a shot!
if you wish for just a rating of the game, i'd say 6/10. good, but with some major flaws now on to the full review. i'll break it down into Story, Puzzles, and other thoughts
Story:
i think this might be one of my major gripes with the game. it's story is, not as good as i hoped. the pacing was a bit off and once it started to get intresting it ends. and talking about the ending, and with that will spoil it, kinda,
in the end you are given two choices, with neither feeling like the "correct" coice. now i can appriciate a "there is no winning here" scenario, i do prefer it when there is at least some notion of a victory even if it is a small one, but here no matter what you do the antagonist gets what they want.

Puzzles:
the puzzles were very hit or miss, i think the game starts of pretty well with the introduction puzzles, falls of slightly after, and the middle is a slog, but the last third is pretty good and intresting with one spoilery exception
the lass puzzle the one you do in the end while the antagonist monologues, is way to simple, which i can see why it is,wouldnt want to distract from the expostion i guess, but it's…
