[/b] The story feels like it's aimed at kids, and none of the dialogue is interesting, but what kept me going was the Metroidvania-like gameplay loop, which I actually enjoyed. Basically, you run around solving simple puzzles to unlock new creatures that let you access new areas. There were a few things I didn't like about the game, but the main ones were: - Destructible objects respawn, so you can't fully clear an area and get that satisfying feeling. - The 2.5D perspective often makes it hard to hit what you're aiming at. - The enemies are more annoying than fun to fight. There are a lot of things that could have been done better, but if you're just looking for something to relax with, it's fine.

The Wild at Heart is a beautiful and charming adventure that deserves far more attention. Its hand-drawn art style feels like a storybook brought to life, while the wonderful soundtrack creates a peaceful yet mysterious atmosphere. The exploration and puzzle-solving are genuinely enjoyable, and commanding the Spritelings adds a fun strategic element to combat and environmental challenges. The game introduces new abilities at a steady pace, keeping the journey interesting without making it overwhelming. Beneath its cozy appearance is also a heartfelt story about friendship, family, growing up, and finding the courage to face difficult situations. There are a few moments where managing the Spritelings can feel slightly awkward, but this never takes away from the overall experience. If you enjoy relaxing exploration games, clever puzzles, memorable characters, and Pikmin-style gameplay, The Wild at Heart is absolutely worth playing. A magical, wholesome, and surprisingly emotional hidden gem. Highly recommended!

Nice little Pikmin-like aimed at kids. Great length, fun art style, and a great metroidvania gameplay loop. Served nicely as my before-bed Steam Deck game for a few nights.

Beautiful game with a perfectly whimsical story. The puzzles aren't too hard once you get used to the game's logic, but they were still thought-provoking enough to keep me engaged. Biggest complaint was that the final fight was too easy. It was visibly overwhelming but easier than encountering some mobs naturally. Biggest praise is that the green slimes look like green apple jolly ranchers. I want to eat them.

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. From the art style, story, character/creature design, gameplay mechanics, SOUNDTRACK - the dread of the sun setting! Incredible across the board. Not the first game I completed, but the first game I purchased and started playing on this account. It was bound to be something special to me.
