The hours you see I've played -- that's my first playthrough doing (nearly) everything the game has to offer. Yes, I like this game. It's such a good blend of silly, serious, fun, and difficulty that I'm hooked. Whether it was epic anime battles while fishing, or solving an actual murder mystery, or finding my way through a desert maze, or calling up characters to help me with puzzles, or just watching little Ogu do funky dance moves -- I had fun. I smiled a lot while playing, and as someone with a stony face most of the time, that really means something.

Ogu and the Secret Forest is a charming 2D adventure built around curiosity, exploration, puzzles, and the simple pleasure of discovering what lies beyond the next corner. Developed by Moonlab Studio and Sinkhole Studio and published by Sinkhole Studio and 2P Games, it follows Baby Ogu through a colorful hand-drawn world filled with unusual creatures, mysterious locations, hidden pathways, collectibles, and environmental challenges. Its approachable appearance may initially suggest a very casual experience, but beneath the cheerful artwork is a surprisingly substantial adventure that combines several gameplay styles without allowing any single mechanic to overwhelm the rest. Exploration is the foundation of the experience. The world is divided into areas with distinct scenery, atmosphere, characters, and small stories, giving each destination its own identity. Rather than constantly directing the player toward the next objective, the game rewards wandering and observation. Interesting landmarks, concealed locations, puzzles, and characters provide reasons to investigate areas thoroughly. This makes traveling through the world feel meaningful instead of functioning merely as downti…

Ogu and the secret forest is a game mainly about the joy of exploring. This game is an old Legend of zelda-like, with plenty of things to collect and MANY corners, bushes, and behind objects to check for goodies and hidden caves! Granted, there is a LOT to do in this game, especially extra content. My playtime is a very casual 100% run and I have a decent background in these kinds of games. In the side content there are bosses that are much more difficult than the main game, enough to put in some good controller clutching moments! The puzzles in the main story path aren't anything too wild so I don't forsee younger members having too much struggle getting to the end of the game. Hopefully just the right amount to really give them a mental work out but nothing to tire them out! Though, that said much like the side bosses the side content puzzles can get a bit obtuse and need to think out of the box to wrap your head around. If you're gonna 100% you need a sharp wit and equally sharp eyes for some of them. I had my own moments of being stumped, but that really went to impress me personaly. Not just for the satisfaction of having solved it (though that is always a good feeling) but …
