AlienAfterlife is a surreal first-person adventure that explores death, consciousness, technology, and reincarnation through an intentionally bizarre science-fiction lens. Developed by Jeremy Couillard and published by Akupara Games, it is far more interested in creating a strange interactive experience than following the conventions of a traditional action game. The premise places the player in an afterlife where consciousness behaves almost like digital information, immediately establishing a world in which spiritual ideas and computer technology have become inseparable. Instead of providing straightforward answers, the game invites players to wander through its peculiar universe and decide for themselves what its imagery and concepts might mean. The story begins with the player's existence continuing beyond physical death, but this is hardly a peaceful spiritual transition. Souls can apparently be reconstructed or rebooted through technology, and the machine needed for the player's reincarnation has been stolen by alien terrorists. Recovering it provides the adventure with an objective, although the narrative deliberately refuses to become a conventional rescue or revenge story…

Wouldnt recommend doing drugs or drinking before this game as it would be a waste, this game in itself is a very good and powerful mind trip, one should probably make use of drugs after the game so maybe they can understand what the hell they just played

Feels like a raw, imaginative core to a lot of Jeremy Couillard's other games. Definitely rough around the edges and janky, feeling like a game made in the direct afterglow of a hardcore psychedelic experience (not being reductive here). Only took me an hour to beat and is dirt cheap - try it out, but would not recommend before Fuzz Dungeon, Jef, etc.

I don't know what just happened... but I loved it. First game of the series and its kind of touched something amazing in a way. I highly recommend this one. Go in blind and figure it out too, it'll hit all the dopamine receptors.

I don't know if there's enough LSD in the world to enjoy this. I tried.
