About Apolune 2

Apolune 2 is a stand-alone adventure single player and local co-op game set in the asteroid belt. You and your team of astronauts are asteroid miners on a mission to make spacebucks, survive and thrive in deep space. Fill the local high scores to challenge your friends and family to a fantastic experience. Use STEAM Remote Play to play the game with your friends online. Collect resources, buy upgrades and fight aliens and space pirates! Apolune 2, sequel to Apolune: the Endless Bullethell Shooter, arrives with splash on STEAM. Apolune 2 is a controller-friendly game that is super easy to pick up and play.
  • Simultaneous Co-op:
  • 2 players on Keyboard Only
  • 1 to 4 players with XBox controllers, and
  • 1-8 players with DirectInput * see notes below
  • Repair, mine, shoot, collect!
  • Fight off enemies like aliens and space pirates!
  • Trade with interstellar merchants
  • High score name entry
  • Fun, casual and fun to play with friends!
  • Lo-fi instant classic!

  • How to Multiplayer:
    • If you don't want to use the keyboard, you will need at least one controller connected.
    • Two players can play using just the Keyboard, or a combination of 1 or 2 controllers and the keyboard. It is also possible for one person as players 1 and 2 to use the keyboard with a "third" controller plugged in so a second player can play.
    • If you have XInput Controllers (XBox 360 or later, known as XInput Controllers) only up to 4 of these will be detected. That is the limit of XInput.
    • If you mix and match with DirectInput controllers (non-XInput controllers known as DirectInput controllers, "Gamepads", like USB retro controllers like the PS2/3/4 style or NES or SNES style, anything generic non-XBox-looking generally) you can get up to 8 people controlling individual players with controllers, or a mix of keyboard and controllers.

Hits the mark for challenging, yet chill. Only played solo but would probably be fun with a few friends.

Solid base for a game. I would say that there is definitely some polish to be done, but it's a great initial concept. The control scheme is unintuitive, but it's a space simulation, so I feel like having to learn how to control a character in that environment is appropriate (which is much the samr way I felt about Green Hell's UI experience). It makes sense that a noob in space would move erratically and not fully be able to control their movement until they got a feel for it. It can be frustrating, but a little learning curve here and there isn't a deal breaker for me. Some things that may need some work: - Steam achievements do not seem to be working yet (I've started 2 separate single player games and still don't have the achievement). - The only way to close the game on the Steam Deck is to manually exit. - It feels like your tether has waaaaay too much influence on your character's inertia. It's very difficult to regain control after the station gets hit by an asteroid, and the you have to spend more than a couple of minutes just trying to get back to where you were. I would prefer to see the movement be more responsive to my input across everything in the game, I think…

I came across this game first on the Atari VCS, and with a Steamdeck now i also purchased it on Steam. I find this game most enjoyable as a "wind down" type game, though it can get hectic as time goes on, but for the most part, it's easy to put on some tunes and get lost in the mining and fighting. The game is simple, you're a deep space miner, you mine for resources to sell to buy upgrades to you and your station. The game as single player is tougher as it's meant to be, i mean really you're a single guy dragging around a space station, it's not going to be easy, the cream is it's multi player, where it's fun to work together, have one person repairing the station while another fights, trying to double up resources, and it's much easier to move the station with more than one person. The gave injects humor into the in game comments as well as all craziness can happen the longer the game goes on. If easy pick up and play gameplay, pixel art, good multi player, and just a more chill and relax atmosphere game is up your alley then I would really recommend Apolune 2. Between Steam and VCS i have well over 4 hours of game play experience.

Its a fun time waster. more fun the 2nd time trying, but thats on me not being able to figure out the controls the first time. Definitely seems like it would be more fun with more people. You might want to throw on some background music at the same time. I could see some spending hours getting lost. I played on Steam deck docked with a dualsense edge and no issues at all. it was locked at 60 fps the whole time, so I'd say its steamdeck verified.

How do I describe this game? Fun, addictive, and a great way to pass time without even knowing time is flying by! I'm usually not one for pixelated games. I'm 41, work a lot, and if I play games, it is to decompress for a bit. So, it better hold my attention. With that said, I spoke to the developer the other day. He recommended Apolune 2 and I, of course, took his word. I WAS ABSOLUTELY not let down. I spent an hour and a half on here without realizing it. Repairing my ship, killing creatures, collecting resources to upgrade my person and said ship. I hope this review helps out anyone looking for a good "builder" type game and needing to have a bit of spark...fun..in your life for a bit, because this game really surprised me. Great job and I hope to see more from Lost Astronauts. Get it now if you haven't.
