✦ AI summary
Turbo Sloths is praised for its chaotic, energetic take on combat racing with charming sloth characters, fun weapon upgrades, and visually distinctive post-apocalyptic environments. However, players consistently criticize the unwieldy controls that feel unresponsive at high speeds, the screen-cluttering visual noise that makes it hard to follow the action, and the notable absence of multiplayer despite the game's competitive nature.
Overall: 9/10

Story:
The story here is actually pretty good for a racing game, especially an indie combat racer. First off, it's not a super deep narrative, nor does it tell an emotionally charged or thought-provoking story, and it never even really explains why the world/universe is full of sentient sloths. Instead, it's essentially a rags-to-riches/zero-to-hero story about competing in high-octane races to build a fanbase while winning championships across various regions, serving as a fun justification for the gameplay rather than trying to be anything overly ambitious. What really elevates the narrative, though, is the writing and the cast of characters you meet along the way, which give the campaign a surprising amount of personality and charm. Before I started playing, I had seen in the "About This Game" section of the store page that there was a campaign, but I expected nothing more than a simple arcade racer with a playlist of random races and no framework as to any kind of real narrative. Therefore, I was pleasantly surprised to find a campaign that consistently gave context to the progression and made every new championship feel meaningful. Each regio…12 found this helpful

В основной же игры …5 found this helpful
With some reviews comparing it to Motorstorm or even Split/Second, I had to give Turbo Sloths a try ! As it turns out though, that's not it. Not it at all. It's a rather nice-looking racing game with a ton of visual noise, but also many shortcomings that will be hard to ignore. Visually, Turbo Sloths looks pretty nice and its "futuristic post-apocalyptic" style is a success. Ruins and desolate environments are the ideal place for the crazy racing action that's about to happen. Between the deadly turrets shooting at you from the side of the road, bombs and wrecking balls being dropped from an airship above, traps, drones and robot sheep crossing the road, TV screens and flying picture bots... It's not always easy to follow what's going on on the screen, but it's probably the game's biggest selling point (as long as your computer can handle it). Explosions and destruction are constant, so fighting the other contestants can often take priority over the actual racing. To do so, a handful of weapons are available, from a machine gun to a flamethrower, or even a railgun... You can also pick a special ability : the possibility to jump, to slow down time, or a more classic speed boost…4 found this helpful
I think it is a great game, some really good ideas, buy it on sale.1 found this helpful
The trailer and screenshots don't mention that all the characters are humanoid sloths. This rules! Why do all the promo materials hide it? Fun racing game with big heavy cars and clutter-filled tracks. The campaign mode is cool and upgrading your car and its weapons is fun. If you're having performance issues, the game defaults to borderless windowed mode. Changing to fullscreen was a big improvement for me!1 found this helpful
