About Alzheimer's: Memories
I live alone.
Some time ago, my doctor told me that I have Alzheimer's disease.
Apparently, it makes you forget things.
————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
You are having trouble remembering; things like what you ate for breakfast, where you put the car key, or who are the people shown in the photos on your desk. Still, those will prove to be only minor problems. After all, you live a very simple life during the day.
It is the night time that is more difficult. In dreams, one has to make sense. Where are you? What are those things you see? Why does everything feel familiar, but also strange?
Dreams are not simple. Dreams are complicated… Dreams are forgotten bits of your past clinging on to you. Dreams are the only treasure you’ll ever really possess.

I think the game does a good job of showing what it might feel like to live with Alzheimer’s. But when it comes to the gameplay, it felt a bit rough. The point-and-click system isn’t very intuitive. No indicator when you interact with something, so I got confused a few times. The musical puzzle, especially. Even with the hint, it didn’t really help much. It took me a while to realize that the notes played twice, they just stay highlighted, they don’t get clicked twice or flash on and off. The idea behind the game is meaningful, but the execution needs more polish and better user-friendly.4 found this helpful
Alzheimer's: Memories is a selection of mediocre mini-games and puzzles, presented badly, with the intention of simulating dementia, which is a debilitating and progressive disease not to be taken lightly (or exploited for profit as the developer is doing here). The puzzles are lame and uninteresting, as is the rest of the game, married with poor technical delivery and lazy, phoned in visuals. Trying to address social issues through the medium of video games is misguided and can be harmful. While it's plausible to suggest the intention was noble, this can do more harm than good. Game developers are not professionals in areas of mental health and social problems, and when they use video games to pretend they are, this can cause far more harm than good. It's my opinion that it's improper to use video games to push political or social agendas. Apart from the harm such hamfisted attempts at addressing social problems can cause, this offers zero benefit to PC gamers. People suffering from health issues or other social problems should seek out professional help rather than going to crap shovelware video games attempting to get sales by exploiting such problems for their own benef…4 found this helpful
An interesting concept but flawed in execution. There are a series of mini games, each one a memory, where you find things to progress the story, The visuals are as simple as seen in the store page but they do get the message across. Unfortunately, the music and memories I have experienced were light-hearted, while the game-play was frustrating. Understandably, with a condition like Alzheimer's, finding things or recognizing what actions you should take is a daily challenge. If that were the intention, perhaps it would have been on point. But even the hitbox of the word Start in the menu gave no feedback it was hovered or being clicked on, so it is a technical issue, not a design choice. Hovering over lines to check if the cursor changes and continuously clicking for things to register, while happy music is playing was a jarring experience. Another issue with the music was present in the musical puzzle. The notes did not align with the sounds, making what would have been a trivial simon-says like puzzle a chore. There were visual hints of which musical notes were used, but unfortunately some notes were highlighted continuously despite being pressed twice. So paying attention to…4 found this helpful
Pretty simple story but I liked I still liked and the ending was kinda bittersweet
Well interesting concept, clearly a indie game, but has a extremly fair price
Initially I found the game to be a little confusing, as I was used to the typical "fast paced action" of other titles. However, when I realized this was a somewhat puzzle like game. It all clicked (pun not intended, a lot of clicking in the game). I had a lot of fun playing the game, even though it's short. It provides some wholesome moments for you and also can give you insight. Very nice!
