Remains (2021)

An interesting concept that simply got abandoned. It started out without a lot of content, and the updates quickly became further and further apart. Now, it's been abandoned, with the developer working on, in his own words, a "Similar project to Remains"... or in other words... "Let me take the money from this, and go try something similar without finishing this".

Its a good base of a game (I played way more of the demo than I have of the actual game because I was waiting for updates)... but the developer hasn't updated the game in 21 months. 8 months ago they basically said they were ready to force a 1.0 out and not bother finishing it (basically they said the game didn't make enough money so they were going to just cut their losses and not bother implementing the story content, despite a bunch of us buying into the game). As such, while its a fun game in its own right - I can't recommend picking it up. Developers shouldn't abandon projects (they have another new game they are working on) and given they said 8 months ago they were just going to finish it up and release it into 1.0, and that still hasn't happened... there's no reason to expect it ever will. I'm fine with early access products not going according to plan. But when the dev has another project they are also selling - that leaves a sour taste and I don't think they deserve support as a result. Maybe if they eventually finish this off I'll change my review but for now steer clear.

The game is dead. Instead of doing the respectable thing ant try to push the game into 1.0 or open source like other failed EA has done. Instead the game developers went on to other projects. This was not done in a way that respected the money spent on the game and instead was very ghost like. I stongly suggest anyone thinking of purchasing this game .. will instead look for something with potential future. Please do not support people that slink out of the Early Access program without any grace.

This had potential but after a post in Nov 2025 regarding the prospect for 1.0 and no release after almost a year, this project may be dead in the water.

Game has potential, but its significantly lacking in multiple areas of gameplay. Unfortunately, it seems the developer doesn't feel this project was worth his time, and has abandoned it. I will not be buying anything in the future from this developer, if they can't properly finish what they started.

Money scam. Get early access money for nothing and dont finish anything and then take the money and use it for other things. Avoid this developer for ALL games, Never SOLOQ
