I got a copy for free because the developer is a friend of mine. However, ill just say im not going to sell out and give a review because I know him. So this is an honest review. Zom Tom is one of those games that reminds you of the flash games you would play in grade school. And that is by no means a bad thing! It feels like a combo of Boxhead and BO Zombies. You dont play it for the story, or its world, or because its super innovative. You play it because its one of those games you can just kind of mindlessly play while trying to kill 20 min. If you want to kinda relive the flash game era, this is a simple, cheap one to pick up

Zom Tom is a poorly made 2D top down/isometric wave survival shooter where you're in a dungeon of some kind with a gun and waves of zombies appear so you need to shoot them slowly, in the course of time, because TTK is ridiculously high for this kind of game. I think this was a student assignment or project or something... I really hope so, because if this was an attempt at professional game development, well, we got problems in the industry. Gameplay is very poorly done, with the aforementioned awful TTK, sluggish movement, and the schema for aiming and control is just... it would be bad even for the 1980s. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guara…

Zom-Tom is dude whose fate is to fight against endlessly spawning zombies in underground structure of few rooms until death. Game itself looks like Zombie Shooter with more retro graphics and without content and more janky controls. Only nice detail is display emulating older TV-screen.

I love the concept but i think it would be so addicting if when you die you get some sort of currency to purchase upgrades like a roguelike, maybe add a few more maps, and then i would honestly dump so many hours into this game to 100% all the upgrades. the foundation is there but with just a few more features it could be so much better, it's fun for the first two games but after that it's already getting old, so unfortunately i don't think i can really recommend this to other people.
