Don't Die, Collect Loot

Very disappointing. I play and love many rogue-likes, survivor-likes, arpgs, and even 'number go up' incremental/idle games. Based on the game description and many reviews, the game should be a great mashup of my favourite game mechanics. In reality the gameplay is somehow less engaging than even a basic idle game. There is only one direction of travel, all of the skills feel basically the same. The survivors-type leveling upgrades are minor stat boosts that make no difference to the gameplay. The gearing system has an unintuitive and clunky interface, and doesn't feel rewarding in any way. The skill tree isn't horrible, but every skill is essentially the same because they can all cover most f the narrow single-dimensional play area. There are many small UI bugs such as the ultimate icon being X while requiring Y to be pressed that suggest the dev doesn't test/play this game, or perhaps it was entirely vibe coded. It is so unengaging that I suspect the majority of positive reviews must be paid/bots. Unfortunately, in the spirit of giving this game a fair try I played past the refund window.

I quite like this game. It's simple, repetitive but overall a good time. I do look forward to future content in this game, as there's not too much at the moment besides climbing levels and getting loot. Pros: Four characters each with 3 unique skill trees enables a lot of build variety and replayability. Interesting and powerful unique items to further your build and power fantasy. Simple but fun gameplay. Nice graphics, nothing insane but nice to look at. Game was made by one person, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ props. Mixed: I feel like there's not enough choices on leveling up. A lot of stat increases which are nice and all, but a lot of runs feel the same. I'd like to see more unique choices added. Maybe Meteor has a 10% chance to double in size and power. Maybe your elemental summons gain an additional element. Maybe your arrows stay in spot before returning. Just some spitball ideas. Cons: Music is insanely repetitive. The gameplay is also repetitive, but it's fun. Shorter bursts kind of game. There's a LOT happening on screen and it can get filled with your own projectiles fast. Has potential but needs a lot of work. Assets are hopefully placeholders, because they seem like the art style is very inconsistent.
