In the pulsing neon heart of Cyberscape, the digital world of PROTOTYPE, a newborn consciousness flickered into existence. This was no ordinary creation - it was 07Vanguard, a prototype AI, coded with an ambitious purpose: to outlast an onslaught of menacing robot adversaries.
A synthesized voice echoed within 07Vanguard's mind, an implanted guide and mentor: "Defend yourself. Outmaneuver. Outfight. Outlast." It imparted advanced combat techniques, strategies, and the knowledge of an arsenal embedded within the AI's very form.
With each passing wave, the hostile robots grew stronger, their numbers swelling like an incoming tide. Steel bodies glimmered menacingly under the neon lights, each machine a unique adversary with distinct skills, weaknesses, and attack patterns.
But 07Vanguard was not without advantages. As the tide of robotic enemies crashed against it, power-ups materialized around the arena, gifts of survival. Health packs to mend the AI's metallic body, weapon upgrades to enhance firepower, and shimmering bubbles of temporary invincibility pulsed with latent energy, waiting to be claimed.
Victory was hard-won. Every fallen foe was replaced by another, the challenges escalating, pushing 07Vanguard to the edges of its programmed capabilities. And then, the Bosses emerged. Just finished playing this game and, honestly, it's pretty cool! The gameplay itself is decent; what really got me was how you have to literally think on your feet when those enemies start tailing you. Kinda gives a new spin to the usual chase scenes, you know? Oh, and there's this jump power-up thingy that’s kinda neat. It’s not just about leaping over stuff; you can actually use it to strategize and get to new places, which definitely saved my skin a few times. Visually, the game’s not too shabby. The lighting does a good job of setting the scene, and it kinda changes based on what’s happening, so that’s a plus. Gives it a bit of an edge, makes you feel more into the game's world. The boss fights are okay, I guess. They’ve got some special moves to watch out for, and I heard the game makers might be adding more, so that's something to look forward to. What I liked is that the enemies aren’t just there for the sake of being there. They really make you work for that win, turning each level into a mini-adventure of sorts. A very interesting story with a innovative game concept. If you like PvE Shooters you will like this one. The unique Artstyle helps to deliver a science fiction like atmosphere with neon elemts in different settings, like a city or a lab. Some improvements would be adding a bit of gun feedback, like recoil or traveling bullets. As well as different difficulty settings, as I was defenently overwhelmed with the amount of enemys present. Overall I love the arena style level design and artstyle. Would defenetly recomment3 found this helpful
Gameplay here: https://youtu.be/vbVIgX2fBNs I think the game could be fun if the enemy mechanics were reworked which I go over in the video, the enemies have a constant stream of attacks that follow the player constantly so the main point of play at the moment is to spin around in circles around the enemies OR the main thing I enjoyed the game is using the jump power up to get to spots they couldn't reach me if the stage allowed it. The Bosses had mechanics which could have been pretty neat with work. In games like this, I feel like the enemies carry the weight in the game having neat things to dodge and outplay with your abilities, but in its current state, it's lacking.2 found this helpful
PROTOTYPE is a cool mix of sci-fi, story, challenge and beautiful setting for a PvE shooter fan. The game offers a fair amount of gameplay time, which is good value for money. The level design is nicely kept in a low poly style with cyberpunk aspects, especially the church level. A challenging experience that will test your strategic planning and reflexes. The robots in the game are well balanced and provide a challenge that feels fair and rewarding when you defeat them. The variety of enemy types keeps the gameplay interesting and encourages you to constantly adjust your strategy as you progress through the levels. The beats are bumping. The hidden walkie-talkies are interesting to find. If you're looking for a fun and challenging PvE experience with a sci-fi setting, PROTOTYPE is well worth your time.
