Don’t be fooled by its cuteness. Rightfully, Beary Arms is a bullet hell, roguelite that will punish and reward you. Augment weapons to create unique weapon builds, pick rewards as you explore levels, alter mechanics to your benefit and peril, fight, die, become stronger, and do it all over again.Manipulate the rules of the game by collecting runtimes, and calamities. Make things easier for Beary, harder for the enemy, or even harder for you.Warp your weapons and completely transform them with weapon augmentations. Add new functionality, or alter existing functionality. Experiment and create unique builds and synergies.As you travel through the realms of the dreamscape, decide how to be rewarded.Dying isn’t all for nought. Collect inspiration to become stronger with each death until your enemies have no choice but to bow down to your awesomeness as you wreak havoc and become unstoppable.

I know the devs worked hard on this game, but I just didn’t find myself enticed to keep jumping back into runs. While this feels like a decent game to me and was fun for the first few hours, I think there’s better out there, especially for the price point. Fun experience with a cute art style. I liked the cheesy joke for the mac 10 and cheese weapon, and how it played as well. I appreciate how you can unlock more augmentation slots to make the mac 10 and cheese even cheesier. Only complaint is that I wish I could always start with the mac 10 and cheese.2 found this helpful
For far too long, gamers have been forced to make a choice between games with cute teddy bears and games with alien weaponry. Daylight Basement Studio, asking "Why not both?" made a game where a cute teddy bear – in an also-cute onesie – uses upgradeable alien weaponry and other, less-alien weaponry, and dashes through waves of bullets. I love this game a lot, and clearly a lot was put into it as well.
Initial thoughts: checks all the early stages of a roguelike nicely. Love the artstyle, the gameplay is solid, and the bits of humour lighten the mood just right. I'll say I enjoy the pacing: not too long from room to room, fights are well-timed. When you get to boss fights, the choices you've made (and the luck you've had) certainly feel impactful. Thanks to the devs for sharing codes with the GuardiansMH team, I've enjoyed the opportunity to play it so far and look forward to a deeper dive!
"Hi, I'm Paul Stapleton." I've played a few runs and I'm getting better (took down that dang Rocktopus), but that last area's a doozy! So far I'm enjoying the loop even without many persistent upgrades, cuz sometimes roguelikes really feel way too punishing at first to make you chase the carrot. I think with a few more runs I could probably get all the way through without any base upgrades, but we'll see! At first I felt like I was seeing only a few traditional weapons, but as I've progressed, I've found a giant salt shaker rifle, a fish sword, a mac 10 n cheese, and all sorts of goofy stuff that's keeping me going. So far the mosin nagant (especially with some spread and mag upgrades) is my prized baby, but that might change as I explore! Also the music's got some manic bangers in there, I like the combo of lullaby bells, weird rock, and chiptune. Curious to see how things change across the runs, cuz I've started to see more story as I've continued. Can't wait for Rightfully, Beary Arms II: The Second Amendment :D
