About Blade Jumper

Blade Jumper is a 2D action platformer where players use a simple jump mechanic in order to climb the obstacle-filled tower.

In 2045's Yeouido, in the heart of Seoul, the massive structure Kukuru Tower was constructed, overshadowing the rest of the city. In this unfathomably high tower, the selected 1% of Seoul residents live their happy lives, separated from the outside world.

From their headquarters within Kukuru Tower, the authoritarian Unreality conglomerate dominates Seoul with pleasurable feelings, using its highly addictive Kukuru Candies. The vigilante group Ground Z, preparing for the final battle to overthrow Unreality's hold, comes looking for you, their former infamous agent.

Are you ready to climb the mysterious Kukuru Tower?

▶Stylish jumping action to stimulate your desire for a challenge!◀

Players must perform all movements and attacks with one single action: the jump attack slash. They must navigate the enemy units determined to send the protagonist crashing downward, all while continuing their own constant climb. Use skilled controls and reactions to elegantly deal with your enemies, or you may taste frustration as you're sent back to the start.

▶Various mob designs and stage layouts◀

Within the Kukuru Tower, completely cut off from the outside world, more adventure awaits than the players can even imagine. Target and push through the various enemy units with unique quirks, the map topography that highlights the extraordinary charms of each zone, and the hidden traps in order to conquer each map.

▶A story hiding within this alluring world◀

As the players climb the tower, they will encounter all sorts of characters and discover breathtaking records. The higher they climb, the further this hidden truth will gradually be revealed—and with it, the feeling of unease.
Why does the player climb the tower alongside these characters? What awaits them at the top? Reach the tower's pinnacle to reveal the truth.

Blade jumper is a pretty good entry into the foddian genre. Each area is a mini foddian map and once you beat the boss, it is pretty hard, or even impossible to fall below it. Most area introduce new enemy or sometime new mechanics that you have to adapt to which will help mastering the control. But i have to admit that i found the map a bit long and repetitive toward the end and which it ended a bit sooner. For the control, you have a power bar to help you gauge your jump. The jump are similar to jump king but with 5 direction instead of 3 on the ground and later on, 8 direction in the air. The enemy have one patter to learn, most of them are easy to parry but some of them are near impossible and its better to just dodge. My cons with the enemy is that if you jump up to see what is up ahead in the next screen, the enemy respawn when you land back to where you were.

While playing the game (English language), there's no left jump slash, making me unable to progress at the start of the game. Also, there are collision issues where the camera is not following the player character to the next location, so you need to go back to the previous location to refresh the location. Not good.

Blade Jumper is a stripped-down, precision-focused action platformer that builds its entire identity around a single, deceptively simple mechanic: the jump-slash. Developed by bit paradigm and published by CFK Co., Ltd., the game drops you into a stark cyberpunk future where the monolithic Kukuru Tower dominates the skyline and symbolizes an oppressive hierarchy built on addiction and control. You play as a lone agent clawing your way up its levels, not through elaborate combat systems or branching skill trees, but through pure movement mastery and relentless, nerve-testing ascent. What makes the game compelling from the outset is how clearly it communicates its intent — this is a test of reflexes, rhythm, observation, and patience more than it is a traditional platformer with escalating abilities or narrative beats. The moment-to-moment gameplay is built on a tight loop that merges offense and traversal. Every jump doubles as an expression of both survival and attack, forcing you to commit early to your movement while anticipating enemy patterns and environmental hazards. The Tower is composed of compact challenge rooms stacked vertically, each introducing a wrinkle in timing, sp…

Blade Jumper is a really great game, I loved most of my time with it. It builds the entire gameplay around a single mechanic: The Blade Jump. You can walk left & right, but if you want to jump, you can only do so by charging a directional attack with your sword. The music is relaxing, the pixelart is nice, the characters and worldbuilding are really solid, the enemy and boss-variety is decent, the story is surprisingly really well done and never gets in the way of the gameplay. It has challenging levels and bosses without feeling unfair. I'd give it an 8/10 overall. Despite all that, there are parts of the game I have issues with. They didn't ruin the game for me, but I think it's worth mentioning them: - The last levels overstay their welcome a bit. They are huge, and not very interesting. Another gimmick would've been nice. - Some content is missable, and you'll have to replay the entire game (if you want to finish it 100%) and re-collect everything if you've missed something. There's no free-roam mode or NG+. - Some sidequests force you to backtrack a lot. This game is a huge, vertical tower. Backtracking means falling down multiple floors and climbing back up, which is te…
