About Occult Rewrite

With graphics harking back to the beautiful Japanese PC-98 pixelized novels and atmosphere that's a love letter to the PSP/NDS mystery games
Occult Rewrite is an erotic horror game that mixes the character-focused plot of a visual novel along with the investigation and puzzle solving elements of an adventure game.

When you and your classmates find yourselves lost in a mist shrouded island, you soon fall victim to a sinister malediction. "Those who bear it will die at the strike of midnight", so says the Withering Curse.
As friends turn to enemies and clothes turn to underwear, you'll face all kinds of myths, legends and occult forces in your efforts to turn back the clock to solve the island's mystery.

In Occult Rewrite, you can't expect to enter-key your way to victory.
For gameplay we have several different mechanics such as
- Alternate Routes - Puzzles
- Dialogue Choices - Investigations
- Multiple Endings - Logic Sections
And more!
Acessibility!

We also have a SFW/NSFW toggle in the options for streaming guideline compliance so you don't have to worry about strikes and/or people walking in on you!
(It's still not recommended to play Occult Rewrite in front of your parents)

It's not "Erotic Horror" without the Fanservice!
Occult Rewrite has over 70 unique CGs and 30 different scenes for every kind of taste. From a wholesome passionate kiss to a depraved \ we've got it!
It's not "Erotic Horror" without the Horror either!
Tactical Pants-shitting action! (Also, no jump scares, we know sudden hand movements can be dangerous when handling delicate parts.) Reaching your good ending won't be that easy, as the island is home to all kinds of folkloric creatures from all over the world.

If a adult game does not actually contain any sexual content, it better make up for it with an interesting story and characters. This game has neither! What it does have, is a bunch of bad-spirited cardboard cutouts of trope characters that get to experience softcore humiliation rituals. The final nail in the coffin was the last stretch of the Game, that had a very disturbing forced transitioning & grooming section, that is played down for laughs. Truly gut wrenching stuff. In the end, any attempts by the writing to make me sympathize with the main antagonist have irredeemably been soured and made me want to erase not only the main villain, but also this game as a whole from existence. If anything, this game should be tagged as psychological horror but for all of the wrong reasons.3 found this helpful

Me llegó, y me dolió. Sí.1 found this helpful
The more you play, the more you get seduced by how intricate the writing, scenarios, and characters are. Truly one heck of a gem!
if I could give a neutral recommendation, I would. However, there is nothing bad about this game, so I err on the positive. Get it on sale if you are interested. The pacing of the game and the gameplay involved varies wildly. The begining is point and click exploration and also some examining areas/objects/puzzles. After a few hours of that its just simply clicking through to the end (hopefully not choosing the 'bad' options). Art style is very unique and pleasing. UI and options are good. Characters are pretty cool. Story is interesting but falls flat in the end for me. Hopefully the developer does something else and fully fleshes it out. What happened to the captain???
