SysAdmin Odyssey - Back to the office

A promising game that unfortunately delivers barely any content beyond an hour of semi-repetitive gameplay. Lots of features are teased, but either not implemented, or don't provide any challenging functionality. Example: Networking seems impressive, but there's no reason to explore any of it. The cables are already completely set up with the most expensive equipment from the start + the number of workspaces never expands. If this game has been in development for 5 years already as the dev claims, buying it now and expecting more content for it to be enjoyable is a gamble. Honestly, I feel bad for not recommending this game, seeing the potential. But this should've stayed a demo for at least another 2 BIG updates.

Very good but until they add at least basic guides to networking this is just too frustrating to bother. ALso i've wasted literaly hours of my life trying to connect to the managed switch and the 192.168.1.1 never was pingable, let alone SSHable or TELNETable. Also the day before (with the broken gigabitEthernet1 port) i couldn't access the router through ssh, only through telnet for no real apparent reason? Either it's really buggy or way undocumented

I truly cannot recommend this game right now. I think in a few version it will be fun. This is pre-pre-pre Alpha version. Day one, no direction on how to figure out how to find computers not connecting to the internet. Second day, set up a router that is not configured with zero direction and have to use terminal commands. I have been a computer nerd since the 80s and I am having a rough time figuring things out. If you are not an IT service tech, don't bother playing this game in the current state. I truly hope I can change this review soon.

Honestly there is potential here, but so many things are buggy and missing it's unreal. Nothing explains that there are only static addresses, until you figure out that from a google search. That wouldn't be so bad if you could easily have figured that out in the game, but no. The only place you can change IP address is in network settings by double-clicking the ethernet nic. There isn't an edit or configure button, so you just have to guess at double clicking. For some reason one PC didn't let me double click. Maybe it was somewhere you need to reset the PC to default settings but that wasn't clear. Menus are very basic currently, and a lot of the time graphics were clipping, particularly with text on port numbers, name badges and screens at a distance. The cable system was also not very neat. Nice concept being able to route wires. The scroll wheel function to lengthen the wire is clunky, and jumps about as you look around. It needs a lot of polish. Also for some reason 5 PCs all died at the same moment with dead power supplies. Kinda cool concept if there was a common reason for it. The oversimplification of tasks has the unintended consequence of making them more difficult.

The game is good but has some saving issue. I lost my progress. Please fix the issue.
