Black Legend

A tactical RPG set in the fantasy version of the Netherlands, with names to match. Enter Klaas, the sharpshooter! A mysterious, dangerous fog has beset a Not!Dutch city, and you and your group of mercenaries have been tasked to cleanse it and destroy an evil cult that has taken control. You'll fight cultists, former mercenaries turned mad by the fog, monsters, and mutants, and you have 15 playable classes at your disposal, depending on the equipment. Every class has unique skills and armour, creating many combinations and possibilities for synergies. Combat itself is pretty basic - action points, movement, cover, attack bonuses by flanking or backstabs -, but is enhanced by its unique "Alchemy"-system. Each attack inflicts certain coloured charges on an enemy, and depending on the charge-combos he receives, it deals additional damage. It's difficult to explain in text without seeing it, so you better check out some gameplay-footage. Difficulty can be customized to your liking, so you can have it as easy or hard as you wish. If you are a fan of TRPGs, give this a try! [url=https://www.piratesahoy.net/threads/the-most-piratey-guide-to-pirate-games-that-has-ever-pirated-in-the-histor…

I love RPGs and I really really like this. I've just finished it and I got 42 hours out of it. This is an absolute gem of a game.

If this game were a person they would be a Dungeon-Master with a doctorate in the same from Harvard or better yet Oxford or a Wordsmith at the Royal Academy of Arts & Sciences with another doctorate in Female Pleasure studies from Cambridge or Harvard. A must buy if not for you then for the pizza you never bought your dog or cat or for the seed you never fed those always starving wild birds. Awkward controls.

Very good game! Those players with negative reviews just obviously not the correct audience for this masterpiece. Solid story, very nice visuals, unique combat system, decent challenge. And A LOT of love towards arms and armour in this very rare in games pike and shot era. Of course there is a space for improvement, especially in UI. Some info is missing. But there is a vibe of old games in it, where you had to study the game based on your feelings more than on some specific numbers. I like this game a lot and will certainly come back.

Admittedly it's a bit of an acquired taste, as it can be a little clunky and challenging to navigate, but it it's got some novel approaches, wide range of character classes and specialist weapons, and makes you think about class options and party tactics. Worth a try when on substantial discount if you're in to turn based combat games IMHO.
