About Dreadstone Keep

The high spires of the Keep have loomed over your village since untold ages. Now, with the Dark Powers that dwell into it menacing your people, a folk hero must rise to defeat them!

Dreadstone Keep is a roguelike, strategy turn-based game where you must defeat the two powerful entities that rule the ancient castle. Acquire upgrades, use your wits and battle powerful pixel art enemies. With one Dark Power at the top and another at the bottom of the fortress, will you be powerful enough to ensure peace and prosperity for your people?

You don't have to rush to make your decisions, so make them wisely. The creatures that dwell into the keep are as unforgiving as they are powerful. With enemies ranging from skeletons to vampires and even necromancers, the threats are great and the stakes are high.

You may start your run going to the top of the Keep or to the depths of it's dungeons, facing different areas and biomes in each of them. Choose what fits better into your strategy.

Make your character a fitting adversary to the Dark Powers through many powerful upgrades, ranging from the Rogue Demilich companion to the unpredictable Orb of Unstable Teleportation! Will your build be one that focuses on hit and run, perhaps throwing your weapon away and going melee against your enemies, or even something completely different?

For a game whose whole premise is to be an almost turn based grid locked roguelike, movement takes such a huge spotlight for me. Yeah there is the simple dash, but you can find teleports, jumps, skills that move the enemies, skills that allow you throw your weapon at the cost of having to retrieve it. The enemy variety is also pretty nice, and the level design takes full advantage of that. Rooms seem almost like puzzles and make for some interesting choices. Sometimes you will be hoping to god your movement skills come out of cooldown to dodge yet another telegraphed body slam from the charging, jumping, slime boss. Sometimes you will be in a normal room with 2 skeletons running towards you and an archer who you can only get to by going completely arround the room and you have to make a choice, will you take the abuse of constantly having to deal the the area controlled by the archer drawing its bow, or will you be a man and throw your big ass axe in its face and simply mow down the charging skeletons with your weak, fleshy, 1 damage dealing soft hands. I've made my choice. (I died 5 rooms later) But yeah good enemy variety, good items, good level design, the game is good …

I really enjoyed playing this game. I fell that it's the type of game that can adapt to the players gamestyle (even tho it kinda depends of the gear and how well you can time throwing your axe kk). I have had so much fun trying different tactis and exploring the rooms. In the beginning of the game you can choose a random character (with different gear e different characteristics and i think that it gives the game a notion of new gameplay everytime, which, for me, its very important to refresh the game. Overall, the mechanics are easy to learn and you wont get bored. The diversity of the monsters and encounters are amazing and its always exciting to enter a new room. And if you are a person that gets lost easily in a game (like me) you will be well located all the time, the game shows which rooms you have entered/explored and ALSO the levels you have been (I almost cried of happiness). I will be playing this game again soon, and you should play it too. You won't regret it! Be careful of the skeleton with a mace (:

Turn based tower crawling roguelike. If you enjoy turnbased position based combat this game is great. The weapons are a bit to similar and I found no reason to use anything other than the big weapons that one shot when thrown. I didn't feel like the builds got wacky enough, a problem I find in a lot of roguelikes, this made the runs feel almost identical since there was really nothing changing with my build. Even with that it has a cool style and a fun base game mechanic. I recommend this game if you like chess but think it could be better in a fantasy setting and your not restrained by movement rules.

This game is a very interesting take on the roguelike genre! It's fun and the mechanics are interesting. I think sometimes the controls can act a little clunky, but overall it such a fantastic experience and my chat enjoyed watching it as well! Even if you're not too keen on turn-based combat, it is balanced out by planning your moves and current upgrades! Definitely recommend. P.S. I like throwing my weapon around
