Well, I cannot give a thumb up to this game, and I wish I could vote for something neutral. The game is not bad in itself, but the UI is just awful. There is no tooltip, barely no explanation, and clickable areas (understand in game buttons and other UI elements) are not highlighted in barely anyway. So navigating the game is more of a chore than anything else. With a better, or dare I say a normal UI, this game would have been enjoyable from its very beginning. But when you need hours of game play just to understand what this stat is for or that you can click here to do something, this is just not right. Sorry Runestone Keeper, next time, try a design something usable.

too grindy and fail/misfortune friendly. unveiling a map, or exploring is both necessary and unrelentingly risky. play desktop dungeons, and not the new one, the old one with the really good character art.

not a good roguelite design: 1. gold persists through runs but is needed for upgrades in the run and meta stats upgrade outside run 2. runestones persist through runs which are valuable for stats boost within run this means you are expected to grind the resources (by not using them in game) so you can hoard them for permanent upgrades and future runs that you want to win. Basically, you have to purposely lose many times for a chance to win later, not fun

Runestone Keeper, developed by Blackfire and published by Cimugames, is a roguelike dungeon crawler that successfully combines turn-based strategy, role-playing progression, and puzzle-inspired exploration into a distinctive gameplay experience. Instead of simply guiding a hero through randomly generated corridors, players uncover hidden tiles one step at a time, forcing them to weigh every decision carefully. This exploration system transforms each dungeon floor into a tactical challenge where every revealed space could contain valuable loot, dangerous monsters, hidden traps, or resources needed for survival. The result is a game that rewards patience, observation, and calculated risk rather than reckless exploration. Procedurally generated dungeons ensure that every expedition feels unpredictable. Enemy layouts, equipment drops, events, and environmental hazards constantly shift between runs, making adaptability one of the game's greatest strengths. Permanent death reinforces the importance of strategic thinking, as one careless mistake can end an otherwise promising adventure. Fortunately, the game balances its unforgiving nature with a rewarding long-term progression system th…

A decent time killer best purchased on sale. Because of RNG, the game can be quite frustrating. You can start off strong in the first 5 levels then die in 1 or 2 hits in the next stage, not because you built your character poorly, but because of a strong elite ranged monster that suddenly pops up. This game does not deserve a thumbs down. Just one of those times where you wish Steam had a neutral or an "okay" rating.
