Datura Time is a third-person action-adventure game that catapults you into a realm swirling with mystery, suspense, and dynamic action. This captivating world is a tribute to the 90's console games era, handcrafted with love and passion by a single-developer, Vladeta Stojanovic, with an infusion of post-Soviet and Eastern European aesthetics.
You, the player, are plunged into an enigmatic alternative reality known as the "Zone" after an accidental encounter with a peculiar drug - "Datura". As you navigate this perilous world, you'll unravel the Zone's hidden truths - it's a metaphysical limbo, home to the souls of Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union, currently under the control of malevolent entities. This sinister realm is in desperate need of a true hero - a role YOU never expected but must now embrace. Your mission? Survive, defeat the wicked forces, restore balance, and return home.

the game could have been much more enjoyable if it had normal control scheme2 found this helpful
The story was interesting, and the animation was great, but unforunately I can't recommend this game. Playing on controller is impossible so I tried mouse and keyboard. You aren't able to use the mouse so you do WSAD and the arrow keys. I was really struggling with getting through the game since I couldn't walk or aim well. If that is fixed I would absolutely want to try this game again. Best of luck!1 found this helpful
They should write somewhere there's no mouse support: no keyboard+mouse, but only keyboard, you turn your direction with arrow keys, while walking with WASD. But, anyway, I understand the nostalgia for PS1 games, but I still don't see the needing to "simulate" the technical limit of a bad PS1 porting in a 2025 game... Sorry, for me is a no go. Even if a it's a low budget and low price one man game.1 found this helpful
I had fun struggling through the first few levels. Now I'm stuck in the underground/sewer level where I can't see ♥♥♥♥. Also I got used to the tank controls until an update completely changed them. Playing this late at night felt very nostalgic. It has cursed PS1 game aesthetics. This game is definitely worth the price if it's on sale. I hope it continues to be updated and polished because it has a real cool vibe.1 found this helpful
The movement and combat does still feel a bit janky and the game could do with some further balancing refinements, but the developer has been making improvements in this area over the past few months and the difference between now and then is noticeable (the introduction of strafing was a very welcome addition!). The story and art style are really cool, especially if you like the brutalist soviet-era vibes. A lot of love has clearly gone into the game. For those who reminisce on PS2 era horror games there's a lot to like here. With some further tweaks this game will be in a really good position for enjoyment by a wider audience.1 found this helpful
The game's in a rough place for me right now unfortunately. The controls and combat feel very stiff with attacks sometimes not registering which is something I noticed as soon as I entered the first battle in the game. Another big issue I had was the fact that once you get to the part that introduces snipers the enemies begin dealing way more damage than you can heal for which was a big contribution to me having to quit in the mine. You have to survive for 30 seconds against tough enemies with healing that does very little for you and if you lose you have restart the mine segment again, which is frustrating since I got lost for so long in it due to everything looking similar. The checkpoints in this game are only when you load onto a new screen, which can be draining for longer segments like the aforementioned mine section. As it stands right now, I cannot recommend the game. At least not until the controls and combat feel better to play.
