Backing this game on kickstarter is my biggest regret. I was promised a spiritual successor to Patapon and instead I got a really shallow boring roguelike inspired by Hades but without any actual depth?? The original games were interesting because you'd farm materials and expand your team with a fun overarching story this game takes all of it away for the sake of a roguelike style gameplay. Even the buttons and commands are shallower compared to the original games. The UI also feels cheap, like they just used standard Unity provided one. The entire game feels like it, despite being wrapped in a beautiful artstyle it has that cheap feeling. The music and art are great but everything else about this game feels way too arcade-y for my liking, it doesn't live up to Patapon's name at all. I'm so incredibly frustrated about this game because I was expecting greatness and got something I wouldn't pay for if I knew how terrible it plays

I beat the early access in about 6 hours or so? it's a rather interesting game, it's nothing like the original patapons game where you have to do the rhythm game in order to move forward and backward, it gives you the freedom of movement, and some bosses are rather cheesable where they target you specifically instead of your minions. Overall fun game. I'll give it a try again when the full release comes out

Patapon spiritual successor. So far this one is more on the side of a roguelite with meta equipment progression, instead of a campaign focused RPG like Patapon.
