my game glitched out for 30 minutes and let me use everything behind a paywall until i reopened the game again, and those were probably the most fun minutes i'd spend in my entire time playing the game. I think that says a lot about the worth of the base game.

I don't remember the last time I was this addicted to a rhythm game. At its core, you just have to hit the notes to the beat of the music. But in this game, it's presented differently from the others. Even though the notes mostly come from one direction (the right of the screen), the game will keep you on your toes with semi-invisible ghosts, hammers swinging from the sky, and razors you actually need to avoid. Aside from the notes having varyingly cute designs based on the level, some tracks would also have certain visual gimmicks like having the screen turn black and white for specific parts to fit the mood of the song. I also like how it's not like a traditional rhythm game. The notes you hit are cute little monster enemies, and there are also bosses where you fight by slapping away incoming fire following the beat. You also have a health pool, so you only really fail if you get hit too many times. This also means you can clear a stage by completely dodging and missing all the notes lol.
