Turtle Riders

[b][h1]Turtle Riders[/h1][/b]I bought this game on a whim after watching a YouTube video on it, In concept it's a really neat idea, a moving tower defence game with micro-management. But the dev cared too much about making the game difficult rather than making it fun or balanced. It's ridiculously overtuned to where most upgrades become useless and you are forced into one working build. [b][h2]Gameplay[/h2][/b]You are a walking tower where you can switch between combat and resource gathering, your tower shoots on it's own but switching is useful to hit specific enemies, you micro-manage collecting resources to upgrade your turtle through 3 zones each with their own mini-boss, between rounds you can upgrade and play mini-games to regain health, gain meta-currency and gain extra exp. There are a handful of weapons and turtles to unlock but ultimately not a lot was added after launch. The upgrade tree for the turtle is pretty cool with different paths that allow for different bonuses, but it's the exact same every run, it would've been so much more interesting if each turtle had a unique upgrade tree. The 1st zone is piss easy, contrasted by the 2nd zone absolutely kicking your ass…

An aim trainer disguised as a rouge like, lite, lake or whatever the proper wording is. Full pun intended Turtle RIders is a real slow paced rootin tootin shot missing good time. There are three maps with their corresponding bosses at the end you have to clear before you can get the final boss dude and with how few upgrades you get in between each run can be vastly different. This is a great lil aim trainer and Im always having a good time romping around sober or sloshed. The game itself is brutally hard In my opinion. Even with all the meta upgrades and perfect aim; the sheer volume of enemies vs random blu birds to click all at once make the whole experience much harder. Totally recommend Turtle Riders.

Chill game, I really like the soundtrack & the environment, very cool 🐢

Contains some fundamentally bad mechanics. Many abilities you can buy are will fire automatically when they definitely should be timed and aimed. Also, I have only tried a couple runs, but the run difficulty ramps up out of nowhere. I'm not even sure if you could call it "difficulty" as usually in roguelikes, there feels like a possibility that you could win on your first run and it is gaining experience and knowledge that makes it more and more likely for you to complete a run combined with some luck. It just seems like you are being overwhelmed in this game so you have reason to buy inter-run upgrades and try again.

I really like this game it was fun I found out about through RCV. My favorite power was the high metabolism.

Fantastic game and such a fun twist on the roguelike genre. I played when it first released and the new updates make the game a bit easier to play which makes it even more fun. I really enjoy all the little things to look at while in game. It's definitely a fast paced clicker and some of the targets are small and move fast, but as you upgrade your equipment (get more rangers as your first upgrades!) and are able to auto pickup items it becomes much less tedious.
