Desktop Cat Cafe

I can't recommend this at all. It's buggy as HELL, and I know for a fact it's abandoned because I tried to talk with a dev over Discord for a while just to help them know all the bugs this game has, and that's what I was told. They're moving on from this game; there is no care to fix much about it. So it's... wow its just not good. I have a LONG post on the discussions page for this game listing all the bugs I ran into in real time, and it's not good. They fixed one that was connected to achievements on Steam, but the game itself didn't get any fixes. It's cheap; if you want to experience monotony, by all means this is that game. There's really nothing going on besides grinding out money and unlocking the next recipe. It's slow, it's laggy, it's ugly, it's hard to work with, its sound is bad, there's nothing here. I'm sad to say I spent so much time grinding the achievements out, but it's what I do. Don't get this game. I rarely say that, but it's just not enjoyable.

If this wasn't part of a really cheap desktop idler bundle, i'd be mad about this game. Not worth 9.99 for sure. The tutorial disappears if you accidentally click anywhere and it's gone forever after that. The art leaves a lot to be desired. The music needs to be muted because of how grating it gets after 30 minutes. Customers walk faster on paths, but never use them when placed. Setting up the food and drinks requires build mode to be open for some reason instead of just being able to click and drag the recipes. If I wasn't an achievement hunter i'd have quit at 2 hours, no question about it. But the cats that have glasses on are cute, I guess. It just feels very unfinished and underwhelming but I also see that it has potential in general, if expanded on it could be worth the time it takes for the achievements.

There are definitely still some annoying bugs, but the developer accepts feedback through Discord and is still working to improve. It's pretty much exactly what it advertises itself as, and is mostly worth the price. I picked it up on sale and recommend the same to others.

I've had this running at the bottom of my screen while I work for the past couple weeks, and there's something genuinely soothing about glancing down to see my little cat baristas shuffling around serving coffee and pastries. The customization is the real star, from laying paths to sculpting rivers and beaches, and the devs are clearly listening because bugs I hit early on got patched fast. It's not flawless: customers pile on top of each other, placing chairs one at a time gets old, and it eats more CPU than an idle game probably should. Still, if you like cozy idle games and cats, this scratches the itch better than most, and I keep coming back to it.
