About Cat Cafe Manager

✦ AI summary

Renovate and manage a cat cafe in a mysterious village while befriending local felines and townsfolk to uncover the secrets of Caterwaul Way. Build relationships, customize your menu, hire staff, and adopt unique stray cats that each transform your cafe in different ways.

The life of a Cat Cafe Manager awaits! Your grandmother left you a small cafe in the sleepy village of Caterwaul Way, and it's up to you to fix the place up, impress the locals, and befriend the local cat population. Time to roll up your sleeves, break out the tools, and start hammering away. Your cat cafe can be the talk of the town with the right attitude, menu, and of course, the right cats.

That's right, Caterwaul Way is home to a plethora of extraordinary felines. The cafe can become their home, to the delight and relief of the villagers. Who knows, maybe their presence will loosen tongues and help you discover the secrets of Caterwaul Way... cats and take them off the streets, giving them a home.

The cafe is run-down and abandoned by the time you arrive, but it's nothing that a little bit of elbow grease (and money) can't fix.
  • Renovate the cafe, then decorate and expand it as you see fit and create a welcoming place for cats - and people - to relax in!
  • Build up a capable staff by hiring the right people, managing their workload, and helping them refine their skills.
  • Refine your cafe experience further with custom dishes and other menu items, catering to your customer's needs.
A good cafe is more than just a restaurant with good food and drinks. The difference lies in relationships. At Caterwaul Way, that means befriending cats and townsfolk alike.
  • Befriend and build relationships with a diverse cast of local villagers, such as Finley, a young musician trying to make it big, or Bonner, the local ferryman who's got some very tall stories to tell.
  • Look after the local cats, befriend, and, eventually, adopt them. Each stray cat is unique and will make your cafe a little different.
  • Keep your human and feline friends happy to unlock clues and eventually learn the secrets of Caterwaul Way.
Caterwaul Way has a long and mysterious history - and many festivals celebrating it. If you want your cat cafe to become a staple of the village, plan accordingly!
  • Travel the town, interact with the locals, and discover new recipes and opportunities for your cafe.
  • And, if all goes well, maybe you'll crack the mystery of the crumbling, ancient shrine to an old feline god in the forests near Caterwaul Way...

Is it cute? Yes. Is it fun? At times. However, there's a lot of frustration in the fact that there's quite a few flaws in this game. The staff AI is pretty bad. Far too often do I find, for example, a staff member with one job - cooking - standing off in the middle of nowhere doing nothing while there's a pile of orders waiting to be cooked. If you save your game at the end of the day and load your save and move onto the next day, it will tell you that you scored a "D" rating for the day overall and doesn't break down the earnings you did, in fact, get. Lastly, the pacing is breakneck until you reach the endgame, and it makes it hard for it to feel cozy or relaxing at all, like you're constantly scrambling and then suddenly it's easy as pie. I never felt accomplished because I was always behind on everything until I finished the main story and, while earning the remaining achievements, felt bored. I would recommend, at this point, waiting for the sequel and see if they manage to fix these problems there.

I like it a lot! it's very repetitive so I require occasional breaks, but it's rare that I actually like most of a games characters- I love nearly all of them! (Except Mateo.. he has good intentions at heart, but where I'm at in the story, he seems to be a shill.) I find its an extra good thing since you actually need to have a certain number of hearts earned with these characters to progress through the game. I'm torn between whether my favorite is Bonner, Carla-Lalla, or Arwen. Also love the queer rep, especially for the old man. If there is anything I'd like to add, I think it'd be nice if there were more hair customization options, including more styles, being able to choose bangs and back hair separately, and a wider color palette. The game only really gives you a range of colors, rather than a full-on colorpicker. I also kinda wanna date Arwen.. but I do understand if it never becomes an option, not every game needs to have a dating option for its characters lol, I can just yearn. I'm really interested in the main conflict of the game, (the mega corporation) and I'm curious to see if it goes anywhere. I'm still progressing, though.

Love this game. I have been playing for less than 24 hours and I am hooked! It offers a dream world where you essentially trade to progress (fish for cat stuff, materials for furniture ,etc..) And there is a short tutorial but it is super quick and doesn't nag you like some games do with tutorials 10/10 would recommend!

Its got charm. A cute and short cafe management sim, the only major flaws are controller keybinds and staff AI. I sold more items by accident than I ever wanted to on purpose, and the number of times I've seen my crew just stand idle and utterly uncertain of what to do when right next to what needs doing is astounding. That said, surprising depth! Only game from the dev, but it mechanically it feels thought out and engaging. Economics are a ro-sham-bo, each customer pays with something different, and you might want to stop advertising to some types of people to get just one thing for a bit at the start, and customer needs always feel varied enough without becoming absolutely arbitrary, often achieved by just giving them something another customer type might have wanted at an earlier level - witches at level 3 wanting to just talk like how fishermen always have a chance of wanting is an example.

A really short cafe manager, but still a good experience. I love all the little characters.

Cozy and soft. I’ll play this at night when I’m looking for a casual something to turn my brain off. Plays well on Steam Deck.
