✦ AI summary

Players praise Techno Sorcery for its engaging spell-casting mechanics that blend rhythm gameplay with strategic depth, satisfying moment-to-moment gameplay, and solid music that complements without overwhelming the action. Common complaints center on an unforgiving difficulty curve that spikes unpredictably and can feel overwhelming for newcomers, along with a large number of spells to learn that may intimidate casual players, though the core gameplay loop is generally considered rewarding once it clicks.

This is a fun rhythm game with a good narrative! I really love the idea that the rhythm portion of the game is casting spells. The need to remember how to cast each spells adds a cool dimension of difficulty that really makes it fun and rewarding to cast these spells. There is also a good amount of content especially if you are trying to climb the leaderboard. I high recommend this game!

Techno Sorcery, is an ambitious rhythm game, from Ancient Arcanum. Its a simple to learn, hard to master game where playing notes on beat is more important than hitting the correct note in sequence. While I enjoyed the core of the game, I had a hard time with the difficulty curve, growing in such a way that I didnt feel prepared for as a new player, forcing me to redo earlier levels to gain mastery of the fundamentals. The music is enjoyable, but not overbearing. Its easy enough to pay attention to while not taking away focus from playing notes. While I did not get into the deckbuilding elements, it appears to be somewhat like PvP tetris, which I enjoy very much. The game is a little heavy on narrative, but I can understand the developer wanting to glue everything together in between playing notes. All in all, its a charming, and creative little project, worth at least a few hours of your time if you find yourself interested in rhythym games.

+ Music is great and doesn't get old + When you enter the zone and things click it's super satisfying +/- Incredibly depth for people who really want to dive deep. Overwhelming number of spells for the casual player. - Occasional difficulty spikes will almost certainly crush you randomly during the campaign. Setting expectations, this isn't really a rhythm game. You clear spells with the recipes and some of them have gaps which the music can help you space out your inputs but it's not necessary to stay on beat (although you likely will anyway) and the notes do not follow the music. Clearing the campaign is fairly difficult and will feel overwhelming at first due to the sheer number of spells but the progression is incremental so you pick up a few each level. The spell design is cleverly done with the art and color giving you strong hints to help you remember, it's clear some careful thought was put into it although the yellow and brown are a bit too similar at first. When you finally cross over from thinking and memorizing to muscle memory, everything clicks and it feels great. Overall this is an incredibly unique game with a tight and satisfying game-play loop that gets more r…

This game is fantastic! I was lost at first with the rhythm, but then realized I needed headphones. The game is super addictive and easy to pick up at any time.

The combination of smooth tunes with real time beat-based action makes for a fun time when you start casting spells - I assume this is what real wizardry is like.
