Made in Abyss but turrets
This game deserves more attention, If you ever wanted to create a murder machine digging to the center of the earth, this game is it. The game is a balancing act of preparing enough for the deeper levels, while also not staying too long to avoid being overrun. The ship you make is very customizable, and forces you to adapt it for the given location, the fungal region for example encourages a vertical design, making it less likely for your ship to hit obstacles. Creature designs are also great, with behaviors that make many of them feel more alive, creatures will fight and eat each other, some will run away from the player, its varied and makes each one feel unique. The physics allow for alot of creativity, for example, a buzz saw can be grabbed by a tool and used as a weapon at a distance, grapple hook does not only work on you and the terrain, it also works on items to reel them in. On the bugs side, I've only really run into issues with achievements, which for some reason register in game but not on steam, other then that its been pretty bug free.
This game is ridiculously good and it is a tragedy that it has such a small player base. I have only seen a fraction of the game's content however I can definitely say that this game settles in my top favourites. I really hope that CleanFall becomes more popular and gets the fandom that it deserves, because every inch of this game is oozing passion and love poured into it!
It's very interesting assembling a vehicle/weapon platform and how the parameters of each zone change where you do have to come up with at least slightly different solutions based on the conditions. It's not done yet but I feel like there's a lot of room to have fun and an extremely strong foundation to add all kinds of content to. I'm not saying it's content light, just that it could adopt new content quite readily and the returns should be very high on the replayability when it does.
I love this game
a multi-eye monster rammed into my ship, tossing me aside, then a bunch of worm-like creatures ripped me apart. 10/10 love it
