It doesn't feel like pure arcade game, more like simcade. Cars do have weight, lose grip, spin out, hard braking lock wheels, they do burnouts though there's no smoke sadly. Damage model looks really good, but game really wants you to avoid other cars. There's no rubberband in game or doesn't feel like there is one. The music is really nice electronic kind of thing. When it comes to cars I don't think there's difference in performance between them, so it's just a cosmetic change to my eye. Tracks varies from cities full of tight turns, countrysides with wide roads, junkyards, factory with blind corners, multi store garage full of 90 degree turns, proper race track for once and an aircraft carrier for some reason. Good game in short, worth the money.

Loved this while i was younger, re-visiting it wasn't as enjoyable as before, but it's still a good game to spend some free time in

For the context of 2001 this game isn't exactly impressive, specially considering the heavy calibre games the genre was putting out, but nonetheless I find it fun, [b][i]once you get the grasp of the handling model.[/i][/b] Can only be described as "sim-cade"-ish, because the cars lose grip very easily but the way the cars slip and slide makes drifting rewarding instead of being an active penalty or blatantly overpowered. Pairing that with the cars being very weighty and the steering being very smoothed out, by consequence the handling feels floaty or too inertia heavy, you have no ABS so your brakes lock up on straight lines and even on small taps and given that accelerating or braking only act as digital inputs, means you have to emphazise on learning proper braking zones and taking good lines, physics are also all over the place which translate to car touches spinning you out, or walls being inconsistent on how you bounce off of them either by accident or intentionally. Forces you to get good at both evading front line chaos and doing clean racing... music is ok; the music reminds me of 90s techno some maps are better than others and speaking of the actual gameplay: the amateur cup seems pretty difficult at the first playthrough but once you learn the maps by memorisation through the 5 or so laps, intuitively understanding the fastest way around corners, the handling physics; it starts to feel pretty easy. Some maps have very narrow corridors to drive through and if a single car crashes it's pretty much going to set you back pretty far, if you start at the back that is. handling physics = gets fun over time: it was pretty difficult to get used to but after a few hours of gameplay it got pretty fun though, i'm not going to lie. the audio gets kind of annoying over time: specifically the horns and i'm not kidding the cars all together do sound like bees and this was an opinion of mine until someone else said it somewhere too LOL conclusion: I'd say it was worth it, there's definitely a bit of replayability involved but I wouldn't say that it's the greatest game ever or an option over others. 7/10 the handling does get satisfying though :)
