Chop Shop

Chop Shop is funky and fun action puzzle game that feels equal parts nostalgic and unique. Fundamentally it's a 'feeding customers' game but the way you go about it is all its own. I found it a bit hard at times but kept going along and enjoy trying to figure out the nuances of the game mechanics. Plus, I always appreciate a game where you can tell a small group of artists really put their heart into it.

Fast paced game with fluid controls and a good learning curve! The after processing effect definitely fits the ambiance of the game, but I found I preferred playing with it off. Fun art and soundtrack!

I’ve had a fantastic time with this game. Its vibrant art style immediately stands out, and the soundtrack is incredible. The level design is both fun and challenging, constantly encouraging you to think ahead while introducing new mechanics at just the right pace. It’s an engaging, rewarding experience that I’d highly recommend.

This is such a unique and fun game. I don't think that I have ever played anything that feels quite like it. It's as if someone saw Dive The Diver and said "this would work for a butcher and I kind of want it to play like Pizza Tower at times." Gameplay is a little hectic and will have you gliding across different levels to serve increasingly demanding costumers. Great artstyle, fun gameplay and some bangers in the music department... I love how much this feels like someone's passion project. I did run into some bugs particularly when I shift+tab to open the Steam overlay but they are so minor that they did not really negatively affect my experience.

Overview: This is a cool game with great personality. What’s not to love about chopping up dead monsters and serving them to busloads of tourists at your unlicensed food stand? I have about 3 hours now of gameplay and I have found it to be really fun and challenging. I do want to stress that this is a tough game. It makes you work for it! But the joy of a job well done is enormous when you finally ring the bell and end the level. Gameplay: The basic dynamic of the game is collecting food (carved out of giant dead monsters) and then serving it to customers. Those two elements work together nicely. Puzzle elements come in because customers are color-coded and want specific colors of food. You have a quota of people to feed within a time limit, so you are racing against the clock and the ever-advancing customers. There’s a light combat element as you interact with the critters who have also taken up residence inside the monster, and light platforming as you maneuver through environmental hazards, etc. Movement: Your character’s jump is pretty limited (though helped a bit by unlocking a double jump fairly early on).
