Similar in style to Panzer Tactics, it is a generic looking mobile port with familiar sounding audio tracks made from assets. There is no permanent army to marshal. While gameplay can be fun it can feel formulaic, given the limited number of tactical mechanics. The biggest surprise is an AI that actually mounts an impressive challenge on harder difficulties. Even if much relies on stacking the starting forces and map against the player. Sadly missions lack the dynamic factors to encourage repeat play. Its not perfect, but it grew on me enough to suggest that it [b]MAYBE[/b] decent enough to consider. I played a lot of turn based games, but this is the best turn-based strategy game I have ever played. It's like Command&Conquer but turn-based. You have 30+ maps where you need to capture the enemy headquarter. You can play each map on several level of difficulty. Especially in later maps when the enemy starts with the cruiser batttleship this option is very cool to understand how the computer acts and behaves on your turn and which setup is most valueble for you. The maps are each diffferent but gives you multiple options to win the game, there is not only one way like in other games. UNITS: There three different types of unit: Air-unit, ground-units and water-unit, not all of them are available in each map. Mixing the units in the right way and attacking the enemy makes the game really cool as you see beating the enemy and have the strategy in place. Units can also be upgraded and be repaired. There are also resources (e.g. coal mine) on the map where you gather credits (to build, upgrade or repair your unit) once you capture them. I fun little wargame. Gives those old Battle Isle vibes as it is basically much like Battle Isle 1 (main difference: you can build more units, so it's less puzzle-like). Sadly, the computer's moves are quite predictable. The "AI" is not really a clever opponent and most of the time it is a game of attrition. The enemy starts with superior unit strength and numbers, but you can whittle them down if you hold your ground long enough to turn the tide. In fact, the ability to call in reinforcements will make a big difference. If you pick a clever combo of reinforcements for turn 2, this will really make a difference. The game has no story and no real objectives: Either destroy all enemy units or take the enemy HQ. So, in total, a rather bare-bones turn based wargame, but interesting enough to keep you occupied for it's money's worth. I do hope there'll be more maps and units in a DLC. There is potential.

A nice little strategy game that suits even a casual playstyle. Easy to get invested into the battles you command!

I vaguely remember playing Assault Commander on Kindle Fire years ago. Rearmed seems to have added a nice research feature and the medals are appealing. But this doesn't really compensate for the underwhelming base game. Slog your way through choke points on small and cramped maps while inflicting damage a point or two at a time, in a war between generic units. No doubt there are plenty of worse ways to spend $5. And for that reason I nearly gave this a thumbs up rating. But ACR strikes me as a better fit for killing time on a phone or tablet.
