I love roguelikes/lites. I love deckbuilders. And i love flags and geography. This game blends it all really well. The ways you can customize your deck are great. (continental, on colour, vertical stripes and so on). Do gotta say its a pretty difficult game. Took me long to beat the first difficulty. Especially since you gotta find out about synergies and certain game functions on your own. But then, the ramp up on the other difficulties is very extreme in my opinion. Maybe its cause i have not played that much yet but geeeeez. Still very underrated game! 8/101 found this helpful
I'm not great at roguelikes/deckbuilders, really only ever played Balatro and Passant and never done particularly well at either. But as a big flag nerd, when I saw this, I knew I had to try it, and it's quickly becoming one of my favorite games in my library. Gameplay is incredibly streamlined, super simple to understand but allows for infinite possibilities for scoring and modifiers thanks to the really creative ways that both the flag abilities/enhancements and the chess pieces work. The shop mechanic is really interesting and makes it more like a strategy minigame than just you relying on how much money you have, which adds a layer of fun to the game itself. It's not too easy to where you are flying through runs, but it's not too hard to where you basically have to master the game to even get close to the final boss on the low difficulties. This game is amazing. Extremely complex and in depth. To have a quick overview, it's a deck builder roguelike with geographical, mathematical and chess components. Quite an original concept! The synergies/deck archetypes are endless. You can make deck focusing on a color, or a shape, or a continent, or whatever your heart desires. In addition to that, there's 193 flags (which are your "cards); each one can be enhanced and modified more than 5 ways. While all that might seem overwhelming, you'll slowly grasp what every little thing does, and get that nice dopamine hit of seeing numbers go big. Really big. Final mention: The dev is amazing and friendly. RubyRooster is very attentive to the community, which, IMO adds to the quality of the game. It shows that it is a passion project!1 found this helpful

omg this is addictive XD It's like Balatro mixed with a little bit of chess mixed with the tiniest bit of slot machines via activating lines to score. Very fun and plays like a dream on Steamdeck.

The rules are quite simple, building upon various familiar tropes like chess, but the strategies can get deeply complex. This game combines my love of vexillology, math, chess and watching numbers get bigger. The most obvious comparison is Balatro, but while the two games are undeniably similar, this is a unique perspective on the multiplier number go up genre that you will be sorry if you miss out on.
