About Aster Symphona

Generate music by creating a factory!

Aster Symphona is a game about automating the production of materials and unknowingly creating interesting beats and even music. While playing, you will set miners to gather minerals and refine them with nearly 80 recipes. Each with their own sound and timing allowing for countless combinations.

Automate

Mine the 6 mineral types, smelt their ores into ingots and transform them by rolling, pressing, and assembling. Aster Symphona's building design is set so that different pieces of the building are different inputs. This means that recipes are set by the order and placement of the materials in the buildings. No need to set recipes here!

Transport

Move materials across asteroids with belts weaving between your buildings and factories or through buildings with short-range teleporters. Ship products large distances and between asteroids with trains.

Levels

Every level is a puzzle. Complete each one by depositing the requested materials to the hub. The levels are self-contained, so mistakes and imperfections in your design will not cause problems later. Feel free to be as unique with your factory as you wish. Recipe ratios are important. But, by ignoring them you to create a sound special to your playthrough. The levels are designed to push your spacial problem solving. Needing for you to be compact with your factory design, getting harder with each level completed.

The best part of this game is when you get done building your factory and get to hear the symphony it makes. It's a very unique idea, and fun too. However... There are some improvements that need to be made to the game before I can recommend it to potential buyers: 1. The character controller - It uses tank-like mechanics to move around the map. Alternatively you can use the middle mouse button to move to your cursor, so why include the tank controls at all? I recommend to swap out the tank controls for simple WASD cardinal directional movement, that's a lot more intuitive for most players. 2. The recipes in the recipe menu don't tell you which building you need to use to make the recipe. This seems like a simple fix that would help color blind or vision impaired folks play the game. I know that they show the building itself, but not the name of the building. The main thing to go off of is the color of the building and correlating that to the color of the button in the build screen. This change would make the game more accessible to more players. 3. There is a button dedicated to remapping the controls (sort of looks like a briefcase?), and there are 4 additional buttons in tha…

Glitchy af. Graphics in the recipe book don't load fully, and parts don't actually follow the recipe book (or are just broken).

-The recipe is inaccurate. -After return to the main menu, the machine still working. -Cannot remove object out of pointer. -The tutorial just throw in your face. It tells you what it does, but doesn't show you how it works. Doesn't explain what > or + is. It just tell you to make this and that, but it doesn't tell or show you how.

I like this game. Its groovy. Kinda like if FruityLoops beatpad software and Shapez got together. Fun little factory game that rewards you with a snazzy beat!

This is a fun, unique factory game where it utilizes the factories production noise into symphony-like music. The objectives of the levels get harder for you to solve the puzzles of production requirements.
